"Why did you stay down there? In the headquarters, I mean. If you don't mind me asking... I just thought you'd be able to get out."
"I don't really know, Impulse." Grian didn't even look up as he spoke. He just fiddled with the pocket watch in his hands, feeling every nook and groove in it, including its engravings. "I guess- I guess I thought that maybe if I'd gotten hurt enough, we'd have to surrender and it could all be over."
"Oh G..." Impulse wrapped an arm around Grian's shoulders, giving him a comforting side-hug. "You should've said something. We would've listened."
"Yeah," Etho chimed in, adding into the hug. "There's no need to do that to yourself, but hey, no way to change the past now." Grian nodded, still not looking up from the watch. Etho glanced down at it, gasping silently. "I'm sorry! Was it too soon to say something like that?"
Grian gave a slight smile, finally looking up and moving his head between the two of them. He shook his head, pulling them further into the hug. "No, don't worry. Everything's said and done for now. All I need to do is follow through with Scar's last favour."
"We won't pry. Whatever it was, it's between you and Scar," Impulse assured, giving Grian a quick squeeze with the hug.
"I figured there was something going on with you guys for a while," Etho said with a chuckle, lightening the mood of the conversation. "I just never said anything."
Grian shoved Etho playfully. "As if. Though, that does kinda check out for you. You just know everything about everyone, don't you?"
Etho shrugged. "I guess so," he replied, a jokingly smug look on his face.
"Seriously though, you've gotten over this really well. I'm proud of you, man," Impulse commented, giving Grian a firm pat on the back.
"I wouldn't say I've 'gotten over' it," Grian said with a shrug. "Scar told me we'd see each other again, and I believe him."

[A/N: If you've made it this far, congrats! Because this is the FINAL chapter of "The Turf War Twisted"!
The fact that the journey of me writing this story was 145 days is baffling to me, but I enjoyed every second of it. If you've read the entire story (which I hope you have), the final word count is 40,300 words! That means, you've read about the length of a teen novel. Give yourself a pat on the back for that :D
I will be taking a bit of a writing break after writing so much over the past months, but feel free to follow me so you can keep an eye out for if I come up with more wacky ideas to write and post. This was also only what would be considered a first draft in writing, for there was no revising or editing done to it in the time I'm writing this author's note. I'm letting myself leave it alone so in the future, if I feel like it, I can reread, revise, and edit this story to my heart's desire.
I love everyone's comments and am so grateful for the Wattpad Hermitcraft community having my back and giving me so much support and love. I never expected a story idea that came over me from a daydream I had one day to become so popular, but here I am with so many lovely supporters!
Apologises for how angsty and sad of an ending I gave y'all. I love writing angst, it might be my best writing style, or whatever you'd call it. But, I hope the occasional comedy and fluff made up for it all. Also, I read what I had of my fic a while ago to my close friends, asking them if I should have a happy or sad ending, and we came to the conclusion that it should be sad with some character death to rub salt in the wound. So, moral of the story, blame my friends >:3
You're all amazing, and I hope you enjoyed reading "The Turf War Twisted"! ^-^]
