"Seek not beauty in battle. Seek not beauty in death..." - Sōsuke Aizen
It had been almost two weeks since what Weiss had dubbed the "White Fang Incident", and things were surprisingly smooth sailing. Ever since her decision to get a bit closer to her team so her betrayal would hurt, more the general attitude around them had improved significantly.
Yang and her...well, they still butt heads a lot, but Weiss's quips had become more dry and satirical, and Yang had began to fall for them less and less. The blonde brawler certainly didn't consider Weiss one of her best buddies, but the two were...acquaintances, at least.
Blake...well, they weren't exactly the best of friends either. But Weiss had decided to hold back on her true opinions about the faunus, among other things, which helped significantly. Of course, the raven haired faunus hadn't forgotten Weiss' remarks, and they still got into heated arguments and discussion every now and then, but Weiss could say that the two of them were at least more civil than her relationship with Yang.
But to her delight, her relationship with Ruby was going swimmingly. They were what the crimsonette would call "besties". And although Weiss didn't feel the same way, it was overall a positive thing in the heiress' opinion. She could tell that Ruby cared a lot her a lot, which made the thought of an eventual betrayal all the more satisfying.
Currently, Weiss was walking down the halls of Beacon, eyes narrowed ahead as she marched in the direction of her dorm. She had been busy most of the day, having been running some errands around Vale, but it was almost nightfall by now, and it was time for her to lay down for the night.
'Today was such a drag, but I must keep up appearances for my role in the Schnee Dust Company. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer now...but what am I missing? Grandfather's journals said that the Hōgyoku will allow for infinite evolution when given a threat to the user, but where would I find such a thing? Must I let the mightiest of grimm strike me down? Or should I begin searching for a more sapient opponent...' Weiss found herself lost in thought as she stalked the halls, until the Hōgyoku alerted her to a presence a few turns away. She paused, locking onto the foreign energy before her eyes widened.
She could sense something, something that she never had before. Some sort of energy, not quite aura, not quite dust. It felt less refined, more unfocused and free. It was as if this energy didn't follow any laws or rules, an instead could act all on it's own. The Hōgyoku called out from within her, sending waves of energy through her body as she stood there.
It wanted this woman dead.
'What...what is this power I sense? It- It isn't on my level, of course, but the actual source of it is unlike anything I've ever felt, and the Hōgyoku seems to despise it...it's getting closer...I must investigate.' Weiss mused as she picked up the pace, the immortal now on a mission to discover the new energy source she had been feeling.
A few moments later, she found it, her eyes narrowing like daggers at the source. She had just turned down another hall when three individuals came into view. On the left, a girl with mocha skin and bright green hair, dressed in a mixture of green and white and with scarlet eyes. And on the right, a body with silver hair and mercury eyes, dressed in a gray vest and black pants that contrasted his pale skin. But those two were not who Weiss had honed in on, not at all.
Because before her in the center, was the source of the energy.
A tall women dressed in a red dress, along with black locks that snaked down her back. Her eyes burned a fierce amber against her ashen skin, and the way she walked gave off an air of authority. Weiss both scoffed and smirked, it seemed that she had found what she was looking for.
