"Reason... is but a shield for those who cower behind it." - Sōsuke Aizen
The sun was beautiful during this time of day.
Weiss was at ease as she stared into the burning star above, one hand intertwined with Ruby's and the other firmly held by her older sister. They had gotten off of the Bullhead for Beacon now, and were walking through the academy's courtyard and looking at the sights. Blake and Yang strayed further behind them, uneasy by Weiss' peaceful demeanor.
But the immortal had nothing to fret over, nothing to sour her angelic face as she walked on the cobblestone path. She wore a small smile as she took in the sky above her, the afternoon sun and fluffy white clouds, all on the canvas that she knew as the sky. A wonderful work of art by a divine painter, one that she wished to make anew one day.
'Delivereth me the sky, delivereth me the clouds, delivereth me the sun. Delivereth me sanctuary, oh Hōgyoku of mine.' Weiss longed for the skies and heavens above, yet for now she was stuck on Remnant - not a problem, however; she'd be flying high soon.
"Wow, Weiss, doesn't the sun hurt your eyes?" Ruby asked with a hint of concern, turning her head to her girlfriend as they walked hand in hand. Weiss only giggled as she shook her head, leaning into Ruby's side as they walked by the courtyard fountain.
"Not at all, my dear. The sun cannot blind my holy eyes, the only thing in this world capable of blinding me is you - you're my sunshine." Weiss admitted and Ruby almost melted right there on the spot. She snuck a small kiss on the shorter girl's cheek, the contact between their lips and skin feeling like a firecracker. The crimsonette giggled at the fuzzy feeling in her heart, Weiss' finger like silk and honey in her hands.
The group of three continued to walk until they reached the landing area for the Bullheads coming to Beacon as Blake and Yang went over to the food stands. Weiss was glad they were gone, it made balancing her personality much easier. She looked to her side as they approached the air-field, watching as Ruby almost began hyperventilating in excitement. Weiss could see the ecstasy in her silver eyes, a sight which caused her Hōgyoku to burn in excitement. For whatever the reason, Weiss liked seeing the emotion in Ruby's eyes, as they were like a gateway to the younger girl's soul. Ruby was so simple, so pure, so innocent, so naive - she wore her heart on her sleeve and smiled in the face of life.
Weiss' eyes, on the other hand, were hollow. Beautiful jewels that reflected all which stood before them, crushing any enemy under the weight of their own hubris. They were hollow like the rest of her dark insides, emotionless besides the facade she put on for her girlfriend and sister.
"Weiss!! My Uncle Qrow is almost here! I'm so excited for you to meet him, he's soooooo cool!" As Ruby began to ramble on about her uncle, Weiss looked up at Winter who was staring down at her and Ruby with a smile. The heiress knew that her older sister likely had many questions about her performance in the Vytal Festival, but it seemed that she was waiting for a tim when they were alone. Still though, Weiss could see the contempt and disgust in the specialist's eyes at the mention of Ruby's uncle, prompting the shorter girl to ask a question.
"Winter, you seem worried. Do you know Ruby's uncle?" Weiss' voice was soft yet eloquent, a perfect blend between the meek and shy mask she put on for Winter, and her regal and holier than thou tone she used while at Beacon. Her sister took a breath, collecting herself before answering.
"I suppose you could say that I'm familiar with him, yes... He's an immature drunkard who doesn't take anything seriously." Winter scowled as she spoke, remembering all of the times she and Qrow had to work together. They never got along, like oil and water. Weiss nodded, before tensing on command as she lowered her voice.
