"You. Are. Fired." He drew out every single word, stepping closer to me with each one. Blood was still dripping from his nose as he spun around and stormed away. I looked at my hand that had hit him.

I could hear the people who were dining whispering among themselves. Ripping off the stupid name tag that displayed that I was one of many who bled themselves dry at this dead end job, I threw it and my apron on a nearby table. Spinning around I let my skirt flare out as I glided into the diner's staffroom. I sat in one of the many overstuffed fake leather chairs, unlacing my roller skates.

"Kenzie, are you alright?" The high pitched sweet voice rang through the room as I pulled my sneakers on. The fifties style poodle skirt luckily belonged to me, and I always refused to wear the stupid crop top the boss tried to force on us girls, so I wouldn't have to come back to drop anything off. I looked up at my coworker, she had her skates in her hand. Her blond hair was piled on top of her head in a messy curly bun.

"Yeah, I am great. Just have to find a new job, not a big deal. Although I'm sure the broken nose that I gave Mr. Hinzer won't be giving me a very good recommendation." Looking up, I started laughing at her face of shock.

"Kenz, you broke his nose?! Why?" I only shrugged as I gathered my stuff and started to leave. I didn't want him to decide to try and harass me for still being here. She huffed and started lacing up her skates. I peeked my head out the door, hoping that he wouldn't be just waiting right outside, sighing with relief when I saw the coast was clear. I rushed out the back of the small diner, stopping only to put my skates back on when I realized that the bus wouldn't be showing up for another hour. I slipped my sneakers into my backpack and started heading home.

The hustle and bustle of the city surrounded me as I practically flew down the streets. I wouldn't have trouble finding a job, the only issue would be letting my landlord know. She was really chill and only charged me about half what she charged other folks but I didn't want to tell her I was jobless none-the-less.

You could try finding another pack of shifters, you know. They would be able to help you. Celeste, my kitsune, whimpered in the back of my mind. I rolled my eyes at her as I continued to pick up speed. I never seemed to lose my balance after my sixteenth birthday, ever since Celeste appeared.

You should try at least. She whined, as I groaned, starting to slow myself down. We might find our mate. Her comment shocked me enough for me to take my eyes off the sidewalk in front of me. I slammed into a small group of people before being able to stop. Two of the three girls started screaming, their expensive clothing covered in their now crushed boba teas. The third girl just stared at me, her eyes flashed green and then returned to brown. I knew there was a pack that resided nearby, just past the forest on the edge of the city, I had just hoped that I wouldn't run into its members.

"Excuse me. It's polite to at least apologize when you crash into others." The third girl sneered at me. Groaning, I rolled my eyes, having to fight Celeste back down, as I also picked myself up off the ground. Before I could say anything, the girl grabbed my arm, dragging me to a running car.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I tried to yank my arm away from her but she wouldn't budge. One of the other two opened the door for her and the girl shoved me in. Even when we were all in the car, she didn't let go of my arm. Rather she started to dig her nails deeper into my skin. "Bitch, I asked you a question! What the hell-." Before I could finish she slapped me across my face hard enough that my head snapped to the side. Gasping, I stared at her, as she demanded the driver to drive.

"Shut up, I know you're a shifter, I can smell it on you. So I'll be letting the Alpha take care of you. I have no doubt you are a rogue. I'll win some points with the triplets when I dump you at their father's feet." She grinned sickeningly at me. I sighed and accepted that I would be home late. I felt bad for my foster puppy at home, he would be waiting for me for a while longer than normal. I stared out the window as we left the city and entered the forest. Twenty minutes passed until we reached a gate that slowly opened. The car proceeded through the pack's buildings and headed up a hill before coming to a stop at what I assumed was the alpha's house. Alpha's sometimes had offices but some had their office in their personal home, which is what this one seemed to do.

"I wonder if the triplets are home right now." One of the other two girls gushed. Those two hadn't looked at me the whole ride. They seemed to be twins, or at least sisters. They both had green eyes and red hair, although one wore her's curly, while the other wore her's straight. They had fussed over their "ruined" clothing the whole trip.

"Shush, both of you. When my future mates find out how I brought in a rogue single handedly, they won't hesitate to mate me. Besides, triplets and twins have never been mates before." She smirked at the twins and hauled me out of the car. The moment my skates hit the ground, they flew out from under me and I landed on my butt for the second time today.

"If you are going to drag me around can I at least take these off? Or is that too much to ask of you, your highness?" I asked, making sure she could hear the sarcasm drip off every word. I didn't see her foot until it connected with the middle of my chest. All the air rushed out of my lungs, as I fell completely on my back.

"Make it quick." She demanded, after I finally caught my breath and sat back up. She finally let go of my arm and watched me closely while I unlaced my skates and then tied them together. She hauled me up, and dragged me across the gravel walkway up to the front door. I mildly regretted taking off my skates as my feet became raw from the rocks. She knocked on the door, taking her hand off me to fix her hair before grabbing me again. She dug her nails in right before the door opened.

"This better be good, Tisha." Grumbled a low voice.
