Chapter sixteen - Mason

My mate’s howls rang out and I rushed to the hospital where my brothers had left her. The hospital staff only pointed me in the direction her and my beta went. Tracking her by her scent wasn’t hard and it gave Neptune time to run.

I mindlinked Trystian after hearing her howls of grief rang out. I got their location and after informing my brothers I started running again. Her howls were joined by my pack and I silently praised every single member of my pack. I skidded to a stop outside the clearing they were in. What once was just grass and the lake was now a field of bluebells and a gorgeous kitsune sat in the middle of the newly grown flowers howling. I shifted and threw on a pair of shorts before I walked up to her. She was breathtakingly beautiful. I couldn’t believe just how lucky me and my brothers had gotten with her as our mate. The last time we saw her kitsune it was only for a moment and my wolf was angry I shifted back.

Let me meet my mate, human. My wolf grumbled unhappily. I caved when he wouldn’t stop pacing and shifted yet again. I watched as her kitsune sniffed the air and she turned and saw my wolf. He yipped at her in excitement and I laughed at his actions, and he huffed at me.

Whipped already? I questioned him sarcastically. This woman could murder someone in front of me and I would still fall over myself to defend her. I normally hate the stupid fools who get all mushy about their mates but man this woman made me feel things I have never felt before.

I watched as my wolf and her kitsune played in the field with my beta close by to keep watch for us. When they were done, we shifted back laying on the grass, not bothering to get dressed. I looked in her amber gold eyes and smiled at her. She was absolutely perfection in the flesh. I reached over and tucked a stray hair behind her ear and brushed my thumb over her lip. She shivered and I sent the image to my brothers. They replied with the image of them on their way. We didn’t talk, just laid there and stared into each other’s eyes until she looked away. I pulled her head closer to mine and kissed her forehead, the wonderful sparks, making my lips feel tingly. She shivered again and looked up only briefly before she planted her lips on mine.

My head reeled and for a moment I couldn’t think. She pulled away and looked down.

“I’m sorry if that was-” I interrupted her silly apology with another kiss, deeper than the last one. I pulled her close my hands wrapping themselves in her hair.

“Brother, you better leave some for us too.” I heard Alex say and I pulled back from her and sat her up right into Jayden’s lap. We all continued to kiss her until I got a mindlink from my mother.

“Mood killer.” Alex grumbled, and I laughed although I heavily agreed.
What do you want Mother? It had better be good.

Your brothers, you and your mate need to come here right now, you have an invitation from someone very important.

I sighed out loud before helping my gorgeous mate off the ground and letting my brothers know that we were needed. Although I wasn’ happy about it. The walk back to our home was peaceful and we pointed out more things for Kenzie. Each of us took turns holding her hands and showing her our favorite things about the pack and our lands. I knew this girl would be our savior and I was so happy that we waited to have our mate by our side before doing anything else.

The moment we reached our home I noticed the horse, well horse was an understatement. This horse had wings that was curled up against it’s body, not to mention it’s body was glittering, I was amazed by the sight of it.

Kenzie squealed and rushed over to it. “Oh my goddess, Lyana is this you, I haven’t seen you since you were just a baby.” The strange horse pushed its nose against her and stomped its hoofs.

“What is that?” Alex asked her as he neared it with caution, the horse looking at him with the same amount of caution. She whispered to the horse and it nickered back at her, as if actually responding.

“She is a pegasus. Actually she is my childhood best friend’s pegasus to be exact.” Kenzie’s voice trailed off and she turned towards the house slowly before just running directly inside.

“Oh great.” We heard our mother say before the door slammed shut again.
