The next morning, all three of us piled into my aunt's car and started to head back to the city. I had hoped I would be able to stay away longer, I didn't want to be tied down in a pack again right now. Especially since the Alphas were my mates. I would be expected to start training to be their Luna. I wanted to be with my mates, me and Celeste haven't been able to get them out of our heads but I wanted to live my life.
I can't wait to see them again. I want to meet my mates Kenzie. I sighed at Celeste and she huffed back at me. I wanted nothing more in the world to have the stupid sappy bullshit that comes with mates but I knew that wasn't how it was going to pan out for me. I didn't even have an apartment to run back to now. There was no longer any safe haven for just me.
"Are they handsome?" Tori asked me for about the millionth time since she found out I not only found my mate but that I had three. I sighed and gave her a mock serious look.
"They are ..." I paused for dramatic effect and saw her eyes light up, "so ugly it hurt my eyes to look at them. I'm pretty sure I heard a mirror break when they walked past it." I said with a big sigh. She looked shocked and then elbowed me. I winced at the sharp pain that shot through my body. I laughed under my breath as she went on and on about how handsome and awesome they must be.
"What kind of shifters will your kids be?" Tori asked out of the blue. All my thoughts stopped and I shrugged, honestly not knowing. I didn't care that they weren't kitsunes, for all I know they are probably a second chance mate situation, since most of the kitsunes were dead. We knew of a few here and there and we tried to check on them as often as we could. I wished we could do more but we would be more safe the farther apart we all were.
Tori had started drifting off to sleep and I smiled, she always fell asleep during long trips, in reality we would be there soon. I looked at my aunt in the driver seat and decided to join her up front. I took off my seat belt and climbed into the passenger seat, clicking the seat belt over me. I looked over at her and she seemed tense still.
"Are you alright?" I asked her. She smiled over at me softly but it didn't reach her eyes. I missed the carefree aunt I grew up with.
-FLASHBACK-
"Shh, stop giggling you little monster, or your mom will catch us." My aunt hissed, giggling herself as we snuck into the kitchen. My mom had just finished baking chocolate chip cookies for our guests and forbade us from eating them. I held my breath as one of the kitchen staff passed our hiding spot.
"Come on, come on." I pulled my aunt, rushing to the table where all the cookies were, grabbing one of them and immediately taking a bite. The gooey warm chocolate made me relax. Lydia was filling a plate with my mom's famous cookies.
"Excuse me, I'm pretty sure I intended for those to be shared with our guests." Me and Aunt Lydia froze at the elegant voice behind us. We turned to face a gorgeous woman with strawberry blond hair, amber eyes and a very amused frown on her face.
"Sorry mama, they are just too yummy." My mom scooped me up and she broke into a smile the moment our eyes met. She laughed and the whole kitchen seemed to brighten up with her pure joy. I smiled at my mom and she just rolled her eyes. "Don't think I don't see you trying to sneak away Lydia." I looked behind me to see my aunt Lydia frozen a few feet away from where we were originally. I giggled and she turned looking at my mom.
"Oh please, Queen Lynora," Lydia said with a lot of sarcasm, "you know for a fact that these are the best cookies in the kingdom, let me just have this one plate." I covered my mouth with my hand, giggling uncontrollably. My mom rolled her eyes again.
"Princess Lydia, you should know better than to resort to begging." A deep voice filled the room, followed by deep rumbling laughter. I peeked over my mom's shoulders to see the big bear like man walking around the island, his black hair messy, his silver eyes filled with love. He was wearing a black suit with a maroon undershirt to match the floor length maroon form fitting dress my mom was wearing. His tie was already loosened and his shirt was untucked. I wiggled out of my mom's grip and ran to him.
"Daddy! I missed you. Mama won't let us have cookies. Pwease tell her to let me have one, daddy, pwease!" I begged him as I jumped into his grip. I looked over at my Aunt and she looked annoyed.
"You know I hate when you call me Princess." Lydia stated and plopped down into a chair near the table, biting into one of the cookies. My dad laughed again, his chest rumbling with pure amusement.
"You still love me." He shot at her before looking at me. He held me at eye level pretending to be serious. "Okay little Princess, you want a cookie. Why didn't you just ask your beautiful mother?" He asked and pretended to look disappointed in me.
"Mama always says no." I pouted and he shook his head as he shifted me so he was holding me with only one arm before he grabbed my mom, his arm snaking around her waist pulling her close. He kissed her and I groaned in disgust. "Yucky!" I squealed as I squirmed trying to get away.
My parents laughed at my reaction. "Let's all go get ready for dinner. I heard there are cookies for dessert." My mom joked and I squealed with happiness.
-END OF FLASHBACK-
I smiled sadly at the memory and looked at my Aunt Lydia again. She seemed even more stressed. We were minutes from being at the gates of their territory, but she kept looking around like we were lost.
"Are you okay?" I asked again, her fear filling the air. She pushed the car to go faster, and I worried for what was going through her mind. Suddenly, she slammed on her brakes when we saw a car about twenty feet in front of us. Her car skidded to a stop right before crashing into it. I sighed with relief as the doors opened and the people who came out weren't more of the hunters.
Goddess blessed up, Kenzie. Those are some sexy ass men. I laughed at my kitsune as she drooled over my mates who were suddenly standing in front of their car. Two girls stepped out with them, both of them gorgeous and blessed with curves in all the right places. Jealousy filled my body and Celeste was pissed. I got out of the car and slammed the door. My aunt screamed at me to get back in the car, as she also jumped out.
"Kenzie, don't go near them, I'll handle this. Please I can't lose you!" She cried out and I shot her a quick look. She stopped completely, shaking in fear. I walked directly up to them. I could see relief and love in their eyes when they looked at me and for a split second considered asking them what was going on, but Celeste pushed me forward. I smacked each one of them, hard, across their faces. They looked shocked, and I heard the girls and Lydia gasp.
"What the actual fuck?! You meet me, spouting off all these promises that I was your mate and you weren't going to reject me. Now I'm gone a couple days, less than a fucking week and you've decided you need female attention so badly you cheat on me?" I scream, the words leaving my mouth faster than I can think them. I know logically there is most likely an explanation but I was mad. There was no stopping it now.
"Oh dear, sweetie pie, I can assure you, neither Evelyn nor I are warming these boys' bed. I can personally say, that they are not my type." The girl with multicolored hair stated, gesturing to the other while talking. Evelyn scoffed and nodded.
"Octavia here is, how do you say it, not into there kind of style." She said while giggling a little. Her cheeks were flushed and I glared at the two of them.
"What the hell are you talking about." I asked, still pissed but calming down to where I was talking not screaming.
"I'm not into men, peach, I'm into girls." Octavia stated slowly, and I dragged my hand across my face. The boys smiled softly at me, silently asking me for forgiveness for their nonexistent crime.
"Oh." I shook my head, "I'm sorry." I managed to say to the boys.
Slow clapping stopped them from replying, a group of around fifteen men surrounded us. One of them threw down the body of a young teen boy, probably around sixteen years old.
"What a wonderful reunion. I'm so moved I almost thought about not killing you and your friends. But what fun would that be." The man said, a sick grin spreading across his face. I shivered and realized that this is what my aunt was fearing.
My aunt shifted and immediately her wolf surrounded the men with fog and lightening cracked through the sky. I knew this was tiring to her and I worried for her safety. My mates and Evelyn shifted into wolves, but I didn't have time to admire their wolves before they all jumped into battle with the human hunters. I looked at Octavia and before she could shift I ran to her.
"Please, my little sister, she is in the backseat of the car I was in, I'm going to get her and I need you to keep her safe. She hasn't shifted yet." The words were rushed and Octavia just nodded once before I sprinted to my aunt's car. I ripped the back door open and gathered my little sister into my arms, her slightly stirring in her sleep. I thanked the Moon Goddess she had fallen asleep. Octavia held out her arms and I passed my sister to her, giving her one last look before letting them go.
"She will be safe, I promise." Octavia yelled at me, as I ran shifting once again. Celeste growled and charged at the men. Our mates stopped her before she could fully join the battle and so Celeste huffed. She sat and stared at one of the men. The man stopped completely as he noticed his nose start to bleed, then his eyes started to leak blood, followed by his ears, until he started coughing and choking on it. The man collapsed and stopped moving entirely in the matter of minutes. Celeste continued to do this, pulling on the strings of her magic and her connection with the Moon Goddess.
You are evil. I told her, and I could feel her laughter.
I'm just making them feel our pain. It's not my fault it's too much for them. She replied simply and I shook my head, watching her work her magic and the others attacking the ones that she hadn't gotten to. I was glad my sister wasn't watching. The battle was over quickly and the injuries were minimal. We all shifted back, all of going to the cars for clothing. I was shocked they had spare clothing, almost like they knew they would have to shift. After getting dressed, I walked to the front of the car to find my mates sitting in the grass with my sister.
Tori looked up and grinned at me, "I knew they weren't ugly!"
All I could do was laugh.
