My mates stared at me from the couch in their living room as I sat in the chair. Tori and Lydia were getting situated in the packhouse in one of the guest rooms. Evelyn and Octavia had gathered up the boy the humans had dropped. He was currently at the pack hospital. My mates insisted that I stay with them, and my aunt had given me a sly look when they had.

“I’m only here because my aunt thinks we’re safer here.” I stated quietly. I wanted to be with them, but I hated being in a pack. To be honest it felt like it would be easier for people to hunt us.

“So, are you wanting…” Alex trailed off and looked at the other two with a pleading look in his eyes. Jayden sighed and looked at Mason.

“Are you wanting to be our mate?” Mason asked bluntly. I blinked several times before realizing what they thought I meant.

“Oh! Of course I do. I would never, and I mean NEVER, disgrace the gift the Goddess blessed me with. Besides, why wouldn’t I, you three are…” I stopped blabbering as soon as my brain started working again. The three of them were smirking, and I could feel my face heating up. “Don’t get cocky now. Besides, my sister is already gushing to everyone about how gorgeous y’all are.”

They laughed at that, my laughter joining theirs after a moment, relieved that the tension was gone. When we all calmed down, the boys looked a little more at peace.

“Since you are here now, would you like to talk about marking each other?” Jayden asked quietly. Not like he was shy, he just talked quieter than the other two. I found it sweet, and thanked the Goddess that she blessed all shifters with enhanced hearing. My throat went dry, and I suddenly was desperate for some water.

“Um, before we talk about that, can you get me some water?” I asked a bit nervous. Mason nodded as Alex rushed into their kitchen. He returned with a cold glass of water, setting it in front of me. I sipped it lightly, keeping my eyes down.

Let them mark us! Oh sweet Goddess, just look at them. I swear, I will do terrible things if you don’t let them mark us. Celeste yipped and growled in the back of my mind. Her moods were becoming erratic ever since we met our mates. The mate bond was pulling us to them at this very moment. It was hard to think with them sitting so close to me.

“We don’t have to do it right away, but we do want you and your family to join the pack, that way we can at least link one another if you are in trouble.” Mason explained, and I nodded. The front door slammed open and the Alpha and Luna walked in. The air was full of tension again immediately. They walked around the couch before suddenly dropping into a bow.

“Your Majesty.” They said, and I scrunched up my nose. I thought I had left that life behind when my pack got destroyed. I hated it then, I wasn’t going to start enjoying it now.

Oh what, now that they know we were royalty, they suddenly treat us with respect. Celeste growled at me. Let me teach them a lesson.

Absolutely not, Celeste. I shot back, I didn’t disagree with her exactly, but I wasn’t about to start problems. I glanced to where they were still bowing and sighed.

“You don’t have to do that.” I said, waving my hand dismissively. They both stood quickly. The boys looked annoyed that they were here at all. Their front door opened again, Evelyn and Octavia rushing inside. This living room was quickly becoming crowded. They skidded to a stop when they saw the Alpha and Luna. Octavia smoothed her skirt and promptly walked straight to me, her heels clicking against the wood flooring. She ignored everyone and grabbed my hand, tugging me up and dragging me to the door.

“Um, excuse me? Where are we going?” I yanked my hand out of hers, looking at the boys. She turned to me with an exasperated expression on her face, before turning to Evelyn.

“Yes, excuse us, Octavia. You may be the Oracle, but that doesn’t put you above the princess, you can’t just drag her wherever you want.” The Luna stated, as I sighed. This news was going to spread faster than I wanted. “Also, your Alpha and I were here first, so we are going to conduct our business first.” Suddenly she sounded very conceited.

“We need her at the medical clinic, it’s more important than anything you have to say to her.” Octavia snapped back at her, grabbing my wrist again. They started screaming at one another back and forth about who needed me more and who was more important. My brain shut down and I started hyperventilating. The world blurred around me, my heart speeding up.

Breathe Kenzie! Breathe! Celeste screamed at me in the back of my mind. I threw up a wall blocking her out as soon as she yelled. Suddenly Octavia’s hand was ripped off my wrist and I was being carried.

“Hey, gorgeous, it’s just us now. Alex and Mason are calming them down, it’s just you and me. I need you to breathe for me, my sweet love.” Jayden’s voice surrounded me, as he shut the door of a room and set me down. The mattress of a bed sinking below me. He sat next to me and pulled me into his lap. The tingles from the mate bond followed his every touch. My heart started to calm and I was able to start slowing my breathing. “Good girl, that’s it.” He praised me, and I curled into his chest listening to his heartbeat. The yelling had stopped and Jayden looked down at me.

“They said they needed me at the clinic, shouldn’t the pack come first before personal matters? That’s what my…” I trailed off and sighed. Jayden scratched the back of his neck and laughed softly.

“Then I guess we’re going to the clinic. Are you okay though?” He asked, concern clearly clouding his features. All I could do was nod quickly and get up. Everyone looked up as we exited the room and rejoined them in the living room. Octavia and Evelyn still were near the door, while the Alpha and Luna were sitting on the couch with cups of steaming tea. Mason and Alex were entertaining their parents and briefly looked up at us and nodded. Alex stood after a moment and headed for the door.

“I will talk to you later. Mason, I am going to go with Jayden and our beautiful mate. You’ve got dinner duty tonight, and I assume, mother and father will be staying.” He said, his voice even but also tense. He was standing straighter and he was clasping his hands behind his back, not fidgeting at all. He looked uncomfortable, and I was actually glad he was going to join us.

Leaving Mason and their parents behind, the rest of us went to the clinic, and on the walk over I was finally getting a good look at their pack. It was gorgeous, the buildings all looked well taken care of and so did the land. There was gardens, and a large training area that was currently being used. I was surprised to see women training alongside the men, knowing that most of the other wolf packs demanded that women stay home. The clinic was a beautiful white building with a gorgeous flower garden where a couple of people mingled. Evelyn quickly rushed us inside and into an area labeled intensive care unit.

“This is our ICU, and where the boy we rescued is currently at. He is in bad shape, so we were hoping you would be able to help.” Evelyn explained and I stared at her before looking into the room that we stopped by. The poor boy had wires attached all over him, and tubes that were in his nose.

“I don’t have the ability to heal but I can, maybe see what caused this.” I vaguely waved my hand in his direction. I had only done this once but I was sure it wasn’t going to have any bad effects this time around. I slowly approached the bed and looked at the boy, sadness filling my body as I imagined Tori in his place. I placed my hand on his head, directing my magic to pull me into his memories. The room went black as I succumbed to my own magic.
