یہ کیسا نشہ ہے میں کس عجب خمار میں ہوں
تو آکر جا بھی چکا ہے، میں ابھی تک انتظر میں ہوں(Yeh kesa nasha hai main kis ajab khumaar mein hun
Tu aakar jaa bhi chuka hai, main abhi tak intezaar mein hun)"Kesi hain aap?"
(How are you?)
He merely whispered.
They were standing in a very secluded place. The beams of lights coming from the hall, made their faces shadowy as it was a dimly lit area. They stood at a good distance from each other.
Zaim was looking at her where as she looked everywhere, but him.
"Kesi hain aap, Mahrosh?!"
(How are you, Mahrosh?)He asked a little louder. Hurt was lacing his tone.
"Huhh! Main theek hun! What about you?"
"Huhh! I am alright!)
"Aap theek nahi lag rahi! Why didn't you tell me about your wedding thing?
(You aren't alright!)
Zaim's voice again came as a whisper. By talking about that matter, he didn't want to hurt her, but he had to discuss that matter as soon as possible so that their matters could proceed at a faster pace.
"Murtaza ke bachey ne bataya hai nah tumhe?! Usko toh nahi chodhungi main! I had stopped him from not discussing that with anyone"
(Did Murtaza tell you, huh?! I won't spare him for this!)
Mahrosh folded her sleeves up, her nostrils flared and many creases formed on her forehead. She started making her way back to the hall, when Zaim came in her way.
"That is not the answer to my question, Mahi!"
Zaim said sternly. He was quite taller than her. He had a towering figure.
"I am not answerable to you! Got it? Rasta chodho mera!"
(Leave my path!
Mahrosh said all annoyed.
"Rassi jal gayi per bal nah gaya!"
(The rope burned, but the knot didn't go away)
Zaim sarcastically retorted back.
"Zaim kitne batemeez hogaye ho!"
(Zaim, how rude you've become!)
"Main pehle se aisa hun!"
(I've always been like this!)His reply was quick.
"Dekho Zaim, meri life mein pehle hi bohatt mushkilaat chal rahi hai, mujhe aur trigger nahi karo!"
(Look Zaim, there are already a lot of difficulties going on in my life, don't trigger me further.)
Mahrosh requested to which Zaim stared at her with amusement.
"Main ne toh kuch kaha hi nahi hai!"
(I haven't done anything!)Mahrosh glared at him. If looks could kill, Zaim would have been dead.
"Acha okay, do me this little favour-"
Zaim brought his thumb and forefinger closer to show how much little favor he wanted"- mere saath walk per chale. Right now. After that Allah ki kasam kuch nahi maangu ga. I will not force you, even i will not meet you until or unless you give me an auspicious reply! Then, with your permission i will send my parents to meet your parents for our rishta."
