The saddest thing about love is that not only that it cannot last forever, but that heartbreak is soon forgotten~

- William Faulkner

Her restless tossing and turning in bed clearly indicated that she hadn't slept. Leaving an exhausted sigh, she sat dejectedly against the headboard. Her eyes were puffy and red from excessive crying.

Airah glanced at the clock, which had just struck eight in the morning. She knew he would be awake by now, as she had his daily routine memorized. That's how infatuated she was with him

She came out of her room as her stomach growled with hunger. On the stairs, she met Husna. She gave Husna a broken smile who wore a slightly somber expression. It was quite unusual of Husna not to reciprocate the smile.

"Tum theek-"

(You alright-)

As she spoke, her voice came out raspy from crying. Husna interrupted her, gesturing for her to follow as she climbed the stairs back to Airah's room.

"I don't know if I'm the right person to inform you this or not!"

Husna's voice trembled with uneasiness as she made Airah sit on the bed. She knew the news she was about to break would be devastating..
Airah gazed at her with fearful curiosity.

"Hamza lala ne Shah sayin se baat ki hai jaa kar! Aur aapki shaadi ki date fix karwaa di hai!"

(Hamza lala spoke to Shah sayin and finalized your wedding date!)

Airah's breath caught in her throat. Had he accepted her love? Was he that nice? Oh, how wrong she was!

"Altamash lala wagairo ko bhi call jaa chuki hongi!"

(Altamash would have received a call by now)

Upon hearing her words, Airah's innocent dreams shattered within seconds.

"Hamara Altamash lala se rishta pakka kardiya?!"

(Did they finalize my marriage with Altamash lala?!)

Her whisper yelled. To her dismay, Husna nodded in response.

She frantically stood up and barged into his room, where he was combing his hair, getting ready for the office.

"What do you think of yourself?!! Why did you do that to me?!"

She exclaimed with a voice full of despair.

"Issi mein tumhari behtari hai!"

(It's for your own good!)

He muttered sternly, without looking at her.

"Ham apni behtari zyada ache tareeke se jaante hain!"

(I know what's best for myself!)

"Tumhe mere saath mehroomiyon ke ilawa kuch nahi mileyga! You deserve someone better!"

(You won't get anything with me other than hardships!)

Hamza glanced at her while shaking his head with bitterness. He picked up his wallet and keys from the dressing table and left the room..

Airah covered her mouth with her hand to stifle a sob. She left the room, crying hysterically, not knowing what to do next.
