Shaila's pov:
It's been a month since me and Dan became official. It's been one month since we exchanged i love you's. it's been a month since I've been truly happy with my life.
"Mrs Parker" the math teacher calls my name. I've been doodling in the class, not paying attention at anything she has said the whole time. "The principal would like to see you" she says.
I turn to look at my teacher with confusion, but i grab my things anyway. Why would the principal want to see me? I've done nothing wrong! I look down at the ground as I walk out of the classroom, and I feel everyone's stare on me.
I head to the principal's office, and the secretary motions me to go inside. When I do, all the joy i've felt this past days fades away, because sitting on the chairs in front of the principal's desk, are Harry and Joey.
"Mrs Parker, so glad you've joined us today" the principal greets, with his expressionless face. "Please, take a seat" he says, pointing at the chair beside Harry.
I take a deep breathe, and I sit on the stupid chair. I try to ignore Harry's gaze as I do. I've been avoiding him for the past month. We haven't spoken, and he hasn't even tried to apologize for trying to ruin my relationship with Dan. He is an asshole.
"So, now that everyone is here, we should start" the principal begins, "do you know why I called you here?" he asks.
We all shake our heads "no" in unison.
"Well," he continues, "a few weeks ago I told you you were going to help to prepare everything for this year's prom."
Joey groans. "What!?" he exclaims, "you weren't just threatening us?"
"No, it wasn't a threat or a question. You all are going to participate in the preparation for this upcoming event. You will start today after school, and for the rest of the week".
"The whole week?" this time Harry asks, not seeming very pleased.
"Yes, Mr. Styles, the whole week."
"And how many hours?" Joey asks.
"Two" the principal replies simply. He waits for a few seconds, and once he realizes nobody has anything else to say, he continues. "So, since there are no more questions, you may go back to your classes. I'll see you after school at the gym"
I nod, not saying anything, and I rush out of the office before anyone else. I head to my next class, and suddenly my mood has dropped. I don't want to stay after school to help prepare everything for the prom. I don't care about that stuff; i don't even like prom or any other school dance.

"Shaila Parker" the school's physiologist greets me as I walk into the gym. She has a paper on her hand, I guess it is attendance list for everyone who is helping with the preparations for the prom.
"Hello Mrs. Martins" I greet politely.
She looks down at the piece of paper in her hands. "Parker, Parker where are you?" she begins to search for my name, until she finally finds me. "Oh! There you are!" she smiles. "You will be helping with the decoration!" she says happily. "Follow me, please"
I nod, and I follow Mrs. Martins to the other side of the room, where there are a few boys and girls helping putting up a shiny blue screen to cover up the walls. It is to create an oasis or underwater effect for this year's prom theme.
"Oh look, Harold Styles, just in time" Mrs. Martins greets happily. I turn around, only to find Harry wearing some skinny jeans with a red flannel shirt. "You will be helping Shaila hanging up the lights" she says, and I try not to choke.
