Chapter 24 (Christmas Special)

The week of finals goes by very fast. I just attend to school to present my exam and leave after that. Normally, everyone finish their exam around 10am, so I have some time to spend with Niall. We go for breakfast, or even study together for a few hours. However, I spend the rest of the afternoon locked in my room studying.

When I get the results, I’m glad I didn’t fail anything. 

Winter break finally begins, and I spend some time hanging out with Naomi. Niall goes to Ireland to visit his family, since he is originally from there. We Skype a few times, but not very often.

My time with Naomi is great. Sometimes Liam or Sarah come with us, but most of the time it is just us two. We talk about so many things we haven’t talked before, and I catch up with Naomi’s life and she catches up with mine. Lately we’ve been a little distant, before the break, we remained friends but we were drifting apart. But now, spending so much time together made us realize that things are back the way they are, and we’re still best friends. I’m so glad, I was scared of loosing her. I think we’ve even grown closer, I even tell her everything that has been going on with Harry, including the kiss a few months ago. And of course, I tell her about my relationship with Niall.

So finally, the days go by and it is Christmas.

Christmas is the best time of the year. I love how the houses are all decorated with lights and trees, and everyone is happy. It is that time of the year when you get to be with your family, and you’re closer as ever. Where the little kids are waiting for Santa Claus’ arrival, and are impatient to open their gifts. It is a day of love and happiness, my favorite of the year.

Also, I really like this day because it is when my family visits us from Europe. My grandparents are Deutch, so they visit all the way from Germany. Also, my uncles come from Colorado, and we have a great time together. The family reunites. 

“Shai, are you ready yet?” my father asks.

“Yeah, just give me five more minutes!” I yell. I hear my father sigh from outside. We’re already running late. He made a reservation for dinner in this very fancy restaurant, for the whole family. We were supposed to leave the house at 6:30, since it is a little far from here, but it is already 7:00 and none of us are ready.

I try to hurry as much as possible, but it is difficult since both me and Aash are trying to fit in the small mirror. 

“Move! I was here first!” she yells, pushing me away.

I groan and let her take her time. Finally, after what seems an eternity, she finishes and leaves the bathroom. I finish doing my makeup and hair. Yes, I’m trying to look nice because it is Christmas!

I finish getting ready, and I just put my hair up in a ponytail. I’m wearing this black formal jumper with some black heels. 

Once everyone is ready, we leave the house. My father is in a bad mood now, but whatever. His mood will change as soon as we get to the restaurant. He is just frustrated that we’re never on time. We put some Christmas music, and we sing along. The only person who isn’t singing is my father, and he is just complaining how annoying Christma’s songs are.
