"Assuming this isn't just roughhousing. Or shows of skill like that food fight. Would you mind explaining how the situation escalated this badly?" Ozpin asked.
The four look at each other, except for Weiss and Yang, on the opposite sides, covered by Ruby and Blake.
"A fight then." Ozpin figured out. The four girls flinch.
Ozpin sighs, "It worries me that Miss Schnee's already had a fight with each member, worsening with each."
Weiss bites her lip in embarrasment.
Ruby speaks up, uncomfortable by the silence and the headmaster's stares.
"Just as you said, Professor. It was just a fight, nothing much..." The girl answered, her voice dying with each word uttered.
"Oh, but it isn't just merely a fight. Never in your previous altercations have there been physical attacks with that hostility, especially one that punched through the thick walls of our dorms." Ozpin interjected.
"As Headmaster, I will not let a dysfunctional team operate normally without this getting resolved." Ozpin shakes his head.
"Lest I shuffle the four of you into other teams. Not the first case, and certainly will never be the last." He said. Glancing repeatedly at the two perpetrators as their reactions mold into more sadness than anger.
"This isn't a threat, but we cannot resolve this problem if none of you speak up..."
"... Not resolving it will mean that you cannot go on. You are put on teams for a reason, and if one cog or two is rusted or broken, it simply cannot operate." Ozpin explained, gesturing to the cogs in his cane.
"I let you resolve the first two, but it is getting problematic, so we are not leaving this room until one of you explains." Ozpin added. Looking at the girls as he sips from his drink.
The four then start to stammer an explanation. Ruby and Blake try to explain it to the best of their abilities while Yang and Weiss input their corrections.
"So it is simply Miss Xiao Long's lack of interest in becoming a Huntress anymore." Ozpin said, putting together pieces of Ruby's utterances and the occasional input from other members.
Ozpin opens his mouth to speak, but before he can input, Yang interrupts.
"No. It's so much more than that, and you know it!" Yang shouted, looking at her teammates, who, in turn, pointedly looked at her.
The headmaster notes the looks but presses, "Then explain in your own words, Miss Xiao Long. It isn't the first time I've seen someone lose interest in their profession."
Yang looks up for a while, trying to find the words to explain the situation without dropping the secret.
Yang might be driven by her emotion, but she's not stupid to ignore her own warnings and her friends' stares.
"What... if -you uh... umm... feel like you're already at your peak and don't feel any challenge anymore?" Yang says. Blurting out the last part.
An intrigued smile creeps up the headmaster's lips. "And what makes you think you are at your peak?"
"You're a first-year. And while I can see that you've experienced more than what first-years go through, there is still more you haven't seen." Ozpin chuckles.
"But to entertain your question. I don't believe anyone in this world will ever reach this peak you speak of."
"The world is ever-changing. Powerful things can turn into nothing more than specks of soot in a couple of years."
