Blaze | Twined Flames

The sun disappeared under its indigo sheets
Adorned with diamonds scintillating upon.
I linger on a window ledge - the quiet streets
Of a small town below, a liveliness bygone.

Here the mild breeze murmurs to the few heedful ears
A grand, eternal praise of life nature once wrote-
Suddenly disrupted by the percussive sound
Of two loud stumbling soles beating the paved alley.

A gawky wanderer shows under the street lights,
Huffing, looking around, clinging onto a wall,
Stuck in his swaying world of raging endless fights
Against windows and doors - tripping but standing tall.

His drunken gaze sights me, orchestrates the meeting
Of two night wanderers striding on beauty's path-
We laugh as our eyes seal a mysterious oath
His bottle held aloft in a toast to our lives.

I contemplate the dance of the fiery madness
In his eyes - Swayed by a mysterious desire
To live, by the flame he ignited in our souls
Twined for eternity under night's cupola.
