Rosie's POV

I think it's pretty much common that the world gives you too much when you only ask for a little. I obviously did my very best to dodge and make up any excuse I could think of just so I would not come to this golfing event.

I heard the whole group is staying over Zamora's residence for a while week and what's worse is hearing that Denisse came this morning to stay over with them.

"Peachy pie, you came here to enjoy. I heard there are people at your age who'll be there so you won't be bored and alone." I felt like a child being pushed to make friends. I groaned and looked at her.

  "Do I really have to?"

"Oh come on. They're being sweet enough to give you a basket if treats this morning, can't you atleast show your appreciation by coming over?" I looked at her in confusion. There's no way I heard it right.

"A basket of what?" I asked.

"A basket full of sweets delivered here this morning. It was addressed to you, Hun. It was on the kitchen counter." I rushed down the stairs to actually see it for myself. This looks like a basket to lure kids inside a kidnapper's van.

On it, there was a card with a message written on it.

"With love, D. Zamora."

I frowned. I couldn't finish all the candies she gave the other night and now she's adding more? Who does she think she is?

I looked at my mom who was grinning from ear to ear. "Mom, send this back." Her smiled drop, followed by the furrowing brows.

"Why? These looks like a pretty gift." she said while standing next to the basket and popping a piece of candy inside her mouth. "..And delicious too." she added, nodding her head.

"I hate candies." she gave me an unconvinced look. "Roseanne, Aren't you making excuses to be rude now? The Zamoras are great people. What would Mr. Zamora feel if-"

"Mr. Zamora didn't send—" I pressed my mouth into a thin line, finding it hard to make my mom understand that. I put my fingers together to calm myself down and sighed.

"I'll stay at home." I smiled, which made her pout. "Will it change your mind if I ask you to accompany me there instead since there might be a high chance I got no one to talk to there." My brows furrowed when she flashed an innocent smile.

"It's not everyday, I get to ask you something though." She slowly said.

I groaned as I grabbed unto the seat as the golf cart moved towards the destination we're going. I squinted my eyes as I look at how my mom was grinning from ear to ear.

"Sienna, Silia!" She hollered when she saw her friend. "Honey, let's go say hi!" She giddily said and grabbed my hand.

"Hi! Oh my, these outfit is just right for you sweetie!" Sienna gushed as she eyed my outfit for today. I forced out a smile and thanked her. In my mind, I just realized I've been duped by my mom since she's been circled with her friends.

"Oh please, Peachy pie right here is a genius in experimenting clothes a lot back in her college years." I nervously chuckled, hearing my mum gushing over my questionable fashion.

I couldn't do anything but watch as their husbands do their own thing and golfing while the ladies were talking and socializing. The good thing for now is that I don't think I've spotted Dante nor 1cm anywhere so I'm quite relaxed.

I sighed and grab the lollipop from my purse and swing my legs as I stayed on the golf cart, watching videos on social media to pass the time.

"I'm bored." I muttered to myself. I don't think there'd be anyone in my age to vibe in these type of functions except for the young CEO's and investors who are also including themselves with golfing along with the other old men.
