Rosie's POV
I deliberately sipped on my cup as we sat on one of the ivory benches. I have no words to say to her. She took me using her golf cart to a what seems to be a short hill a bit distant from where the guest are enjoying their time, but we were still infact part of the golf field.
I sighed and overlooking the tents and few people enjoying the snack buffet table while the rest enjoyed golfing and socializing.
She sat next to me with her legs crossed and her arm lazily hanging on the backrest as she pushed her head back, soaking in the sunlight peeking through the swaying leaves from the branches.
This time I've grown impatient and deliberately shifted my eyes towards her direction. "Do you have anything to say to me?"
She held a look of surprise as if she didn't expect me to snap at her the very moment. "Rather you asking me that, aren't I supposedly the one who should ask you that?" She rose a brow, menacingly looking at me as if to inspect of any flaws in my face. Her gazes honestly just feels stimulating on my part that I felt like I had no room to breath.
"Did you get my gift?" She asked. "Are you trying to give me a cavity?" I replied.
"I didn't intend you to shove them all inside your mouth at once, peachy pie." She smiled. I looked away, trying to activate a charm barrier against her.
I've been sweating pretty badly inside my clothes and I'm afraid to say that it's because of her. "I don't know why you're even giving me that much candy as if it magically makes my smoking obsession disappear." I grumbled.
She chuckled and slowly snaked her hand around my waist and pulled me closer to her. "I gave you candy even before you smoke. It's a gift, not a remedy but if I were to be asked, it did do it's job to me. We never know, it might work on you. " She winked.
I scoffed and slowly shoved her away. The audacity. "Don't tell me what to do." I sneered.
"I'm not telling you what to do. It's just a suggestion." She shrugged. I pressed my lips into a thin line. Not knowing how to react when she's this close to me. I'm not sure but I guess her flirtatious nature is part of the cause why I act stingy.
I nonchalantly touched my pulse, feeling the fast beating of it. No, I have to atleast act like I'm hard to wrapped around her fingers now.
When I did budge and react to her statement. She let out a huge sigh.
"Roseanne," she trailed. "Do you have anything to say to me after leaving me behind?" My mouth felt dry. I should've known she would be this straightforward and that this would be the PRIMARY topic she'd ever open up.
"I-I have nothing to say to you. I-It's not your business." I replied. I could not talk without having to shove the barrier I've created up against her just so she would feel that I've moved on and let the past be a past.
"It could've also been mine if you were being honest enough instead of running away from me." My mouth could not utter any word that justified my actions.
My pride can never make me say that I've become a stupid person for you and now I have to disappear to fix my life. I have my guard up so I would not repeat the same mistake again.
Even though she's single, the word 'Love' is quite hard to find for people like Dante. She might actually juggle me around with other girls.
"I already told you what I had to tell. What else do you want me to say?" I said, feeling annoyed at my own thoughts. She massaged her temples in frustration. "You didn't tell me you'd leave. "
