Five Nights and Reid Collide (TBP and FNAF fanfic)

Playing the Game

* Reid's POV *

The game starts up by saying "Night 2" in digital letters on a black screen. The office appears shortly after, and the phone begins to ring.

"Oh not this again." I sigh as it rings once, twice, three times....

"Uhh, Hello? Hello? Uh, well, if you're hearing this and you made it to day two, uh, congrats! I-I won't talk quite as long this time since Freddy and his friends tend to become more active as the week progresses. Uhh, it might be a good idea to peek at those cameras while I talk just to make sure everyone's in their proper place. You know...

I chuckle as he talks about them becoming more active.

"Nothing even happened last night." I say skeptically.

I decide to check the cameras anyhow, even though I doubt that anything will happen.

"Uh... Interestingly enough, Freddy himself doesn't come off stage very often. I heard he becomes a lot more active in the dark though, so, hey, I guess that's one more reason not to run out of power, right?"

"Haha, so funny..." I mutter sarcastically as I flip through the cameras.

"I-I also want to emphasize the importance of using your door lights. There are blind spots in your camera views, and those blind spots happen to be right outside of your doors. So if-if you can't find something, or someone, on your cameras, be sure to check the door lights. Uh, you might only have a few seconds to react..."

"Wait, huh?" I question.

"Uh, not that you would be in any danger, of course. I'm not implying that..."

"Oh sure you aren't...." I say.

"Also, check on the curtain in Pirate Cove from time to time. The character in there seems unique in that he becomes more active if the cameras remain off for long periods of time. I guess he doesn't like being watched. I don't know. Anyway, I'm sure you have everything under control! Uh, talk to you soon."

With that the phone clicks off. I flip through the feeds until I find the one called Pirate's Cove. Currently it's the same as it was before; the dull purple and star patterned curtains are closed, and the sign in front says "Sorry, Out Of Order!"

"If he is more active when the cameras are watched.... wouldn't that mean he likes to be watched and not the other way around?" I question as I go over what that guy said. He confuses me.

It's already 2 AM by the time the guy on the phone is done talking. I am flipping back to CAM 1A, the Show Stage; when the camera suddenly blacks out. I'm really confused for a moment. The camera comes back on, but there's a problem. Only two characters stand on the stage...

"Bonnie's gone!" I whisper loudly, kind of thankful something is happening in the game finally.

My heart starts beating a little faster as I flip through to CAM 1B, the Dining Room. I nearly have a heart attack when I see Bonnie in the middle of the dimly lit room, staring at the camera with his mouth part way open. I also notice he is no longer holding that red guitar of his.

I quickly switch back to the Show Stage to ensure none of the others have left. I sigh quietly when Chica and Freddy are still in there spots. The camera cuts out again and comes back on quickly. I half know why it did that, and so I go and check the Dining Room. Bonnie's gone again.

"Now where'd you go?" I whisper.

I flick through the various feeds until I land on CAM 5; the Backstage. Right there in the door way is Bonnie. He is standing directly in front of the camera just...staring. I get a weird shiver down my spine when his magenta eyes meet mine. I find that weird, since this game is hardly as scary as some people are saying.

For the next game hour, Bonnie bounces around from room to room. The camera goes black as usual, telling me he moved. But when the camera is back on I see Bonnie hasn't moved. I check the Show Stage to see that Chica has moved, and Freddy is staring at me with black eyes and tiny white pin-prick irises.

I move off of the Show Stage feed quickly, for Freddy was creepy. Chica is in the Dining Room. She stands over to the left of the screen, facing forward away from the camera. However, her head is turned towards the camera and her mouth is open, showing off her teeth. She too is no longer holding what she usually has, which is her pink cupcake.

"You just stay there now freaky." I say, taping the screen with my finger. I pull the camera down and look at the time. It's already 3 AM. "Good, only 3 more hours to go." I say with a half-smile.

I hear what sounds like metal being dragged and dropped onto the floor repeatedly in rhythm. After a few of the sounds cycle through I realize the noise is footsteps. I get a weird feeling to turn on the West hall light, and when I do I am greeted with Bonnie's face in the doorway.

I jump out of my skin and quickly close the door. The noise brought on by his sudden presence scared me. I turn the West hallway light on, and I can see the outline of one of his ears shadow flickering on the window frame. When I see the usage bar go up to two green bars, a yellow and an orange I turn off the light.

"Forgot about that..." I mutter.

When at last he leaves, I open the big door. As I am scanning through all of the feeds, a new character startles me. On CAM 1C, Pirate's Cove, a face pears out from behind the curtains.

"Well, hello there. You must be Foxy..." I say to the character.

I ignore him and go back to making sure Chica and Bonnie are in there places. Once I'm assured they are, I lower the camera and relax for a bit.

I sit there and scan from left to right, clicking the lights on and off. Occasionally I get startled when they appear in the doorway with the lights illuminating over them. But that's not really a problem, as all I do is close the door in their face.

Really all I have to do in this game so far is go from left to right checking the hall, and pay the occasional check up on Foxy in Pirate's Cove.

At last the bell rings at 6am. I sigh happily and let it go through to the third night. Although I am a little tired and my eyes are grainy, I am going to play to the end. I'm determined!
