During dinner, everyone was talking about what they were going to do about school once again.

"I think I might go back tomorrow. It's been a while since I've seen the girls." Dani announced, confusing Gustav.

"The girls?" He asked, his brow still furrowed in confusion.

"The green, yellow and blue version of the heathers but actually good friends." Georg joked, making Dani laugh.

"Yeah, them. Samara, Natalie and Monique. It's been a few days, I want to make sure they're okay."

"Sweet of you" Tom smiled before taking another bite of his food.

"You staying over tonight then?" Georg asked in a way he assured was polite.

"Probably not, I've got to wear pink tomorrow and I doubt any of you have any." Everyone laughed as they began deciding on a movie to watch that night.

After quite a few hours, Dani walked home and got herself ready for tomorrow.

The next morning, Dani woke up and felt a sense of anxiety wash over her. She hoped her life would return to normal, just like before the incident. But nothing will be the same. Nothing will ever be the same again.

She put on her best outfit, hanging up the new dress Bill got her yesterday. Just thinking about him made her calm down. His warm embrace that held her for the nights before, his soft voice and that German accent she so adored.

Her makeup was set right, and her hair was looking straight as ever. If she were having a bad makeup or hair day, she would break down crying and call out sick.

She picked up her white quilted school handbag and checked her appearance one last time in the mirror before walking outside and meeting Bill, Gustav and Tom.

"You feeling alright?" Gustav asked, noticing how she wasn't like herself this morning.

"Yeah, yeah, just a little nervous." She admitted, stuttering slightly through her words.

"That's okay. It's your first time back."

"I know, and I don't want to go back if I'm honest. I don't want to be in a place where I can be killed at any point in time." She spilt, making Bill look worried for her.

"You shouldn't feel that way. School should just be a place to learn, not a place to be scared about." He added, Dani wrapping her arm around his back.

"Say that to the fucker that shot up the classroom next to you." She said in slight anger, not at Bill but at the world. The school system, everything.

"Sorry." She apologised and Bill put an arm around her.

"Don't worry about it. You have a reason to be angry." He assured her as she leaned her head against him.

They made it to school grounds, Monique and Natalie waiting for them.

"Dani, you good? You haven't been in for a while, you trying to give Mr Bush a coronary? The show's been moved up, it's on Friday!" Natalie badgered her with question after question.

"I'll skip home room to go see him, Tell Mr Morris I am actually here today. And yeah, I think I'm okay." She smiled weakly and walked away to the drama department.

"You sure she's okay?" Monique asked Bill as Gustav walked over to his friends in the year above them.

"I think she's only just holding on." He looked down then up at her.

"Dani's always been the type to act strong. Since the crybaby incident, she swore no one would see her cry unless she trusted them dearly. Not loved, trusted." Monique explained to him.
