"I'm coming with." Emilia announced just as Cassia and I were about to depart on the first point of our mission.

"Me too." Melanie added, both females now rushing towards us. I looked to Mel as if she actually expected me to agree to this. "I can help you pick one," She bargained. "I know you well enough to know which one will scar you more."

I sighed dejectedly and looked to Emilia for her reasoning.

"This house is suffocating, I'll be next to two of the most powerful creatures on the planet, I see no reason why I can't come." And of course she was right. There was no safer place for her than beside Cassia and I.

My shoulders slumped and I nodded.

"Anyone else?" I asked, my tone clearly annoyed.

"No, but while you're out, mind bringing back some more whisky?" Chuck hollered from the kitchen and my heart grew light with his casual tone. He was making it less dramatic.

I rolled my eyes and shut the door, welcoming the cool breeze as we made our way to Chuck's truck. There was a high chance we would be bringing back someone else and my Porsche would not fit five people in it comfortably.

His beat up truck was his pride and joy. Chuck had told me he had bought it in the eighties and every now and then needed to restore it, but it was a consistent for him and I knew better than anyone how much an immortal needed some form of consistency.

Melanie had always been mine, despite our separation.

"Where to?" I asked Cassia. She had taken the passenger seat.

"A bar, humans are less suspicious of anything when they are intoxicated."

"Great, my first heir and it will be a drunk."

"Seems fitting." Melanie nudged my seat and I sent a glare her way through the rearview mirror.

"Watch it, Sabrina."

"You can't throw an insult like that my way," Melanie sneered. "What the hell am I supposed to call you? There's no fictional character like you."

"You can always call me God." I smirked.

"Oh no," Cassia shook her head. "God was nothing like you."

"You've met God?" Emilia's face was suddenly between Cassia and I's seats.

"No, but I was around during the time that belief in him was prominent and his words were preached world-wide." Cassia looked to my mate, her eyes bright as she explained. "But from what I've heard, he is a lot more...gracious than Alexis." A sly smirk crept onto her face. "Besides, I'm the strongest one in this vehicle, if anyone should be proclaimed God, it should be me."

"You just got insulted like twice and you haven't killed her yet." Melanie nudged my seat again.

"Could you stop that?" I looked to the back in annoyance then turned to Cassia. "You've yet to prove you're stronger than me."

"But I am faster and more powerful." She pointed out.

"Prove your strength before you proclaim it."

"You two sound like two guys hyped up on testosterone." Melanie squeezed her head in beside Emilia.

Emilia didn't look slightly impressed by the position, but her eyes turned to Cassia when Melanie's head was tilted more towards me. Was she jealous?

"You nervous?" Melanie whispered, which was useless due to our company.

"A little," I replied, more scared than anything else. I could not get the dread to leave me. I would be killing my first heir soon. "I'm a little excited." I admitted. "It would mean everything to me if I could create an heir."
