"Emilia don't!" I grabbed her around but she was flailing around too much for me to get a proper grip on her without hurting her.
"Emilia stop, if you get to her you could kill her!" Chuck tried to reason with my mate but she saw red as her eyes locked with Melanie.
"Seriously? You forgive Alexis, the one who initiated it by the way, but you want to kill me?" Melanie cocked a brow. "Am I getting that right?"
"Mel, not a good idea to aggravate her right now." I said as I watched Melanie roll her eyes.
"She's being childish." Mel shrugged.
"She is mine!" I could hear the growl of Emilia's wolf in her voice.
"'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.'" My mother watched with amused eyes.
"Make her stop." Cassandra growled out, Emilia's anger clearly seeping into her.
"Let me fucking kill her, Alexis!" Emilia turned to me with amber eyes glowing with rage.
"Look at what you're doing, Mia!" I gestured towards the ripped couches and scratched walls, all that had happened before any of us had heard Melanie's screams.
I had arrived to the scene to find Emilia gripping Melanie's throat, digging her claws so deep in the witch's neck that she drew blood. The furniture had been turned upside down and ripping beyond repair. I knew Emilia was ready to kill.
"Mia, you know this was my fault, not hers." I tried to reason with her, tried to get her out of her bloodlust before that entered Cassandra and we had two Yandirs out for vengeance. "Look at me." I forcefully turned my mate around. "Hit me, attack me, I did this. I can heal. Don't kill Melanie."
And she did. She slapped me right across the face with all the anger she had in her. I wanted it to hurt, I wish it did so she could feel the satisfaction of hurting me in some way. But I felt nothing, everything healed to quickly and left no evidence of what had occured.
The room fell silent, as if everyone was holding the breaths for what had just happened. I couldn't even hear Cassandra's harsh breathing anymore which to me seemed like a clear indicator that maybe Emilia had calmed down as well. At least enough for Cassandra to gain control of her emotions.
"I didn't-" Emilia's eyes were wide with shock as she stared where she had just slapped.
"It's okay, love." I leaned in to kiss her forehead.
Tears were forming in her eyes, everything had become too much for her again. Seeing Melanie was too much, me being in the same room as Melanie was too much. I hated how much pain this was bringing her.
"Everyone out." I instructed. "Mel, you and I are on separate parts of the house for a while, until things settle down." Melanie rolled her eyes but nodded nonetheless.
I watched as Mel and Cassandra walked out and Chuck stood deciding which one to follow. Eventually he walked out but went straight to the kitchen, no doubt to pour himself a shot of bourbon My parents lingered for a moment, mostly my mother, my father was simply there for her and maybe Emilia. He seemed fond of my mate which tugged at my heart but I wouldn't let it hurt me. He left and soon it was just my mother, Darcy, Emilia and I.
I glared at Darcy, I did not want him here, he did not need to comfort Emilia, I was here.
"You don't think you've hurt her enough?" Darcy growled out and Emilia's head fell forward as if she didn't want me to see her pain.
"I think you better leave before I kill you again." I barked.
He shook his head and slowly made his way out of the room, followed by my mother who clearly realised I needed to be alone with Emilia.
