Thara's POV:
There is a smile on my lips as I return home. I can't get Narrine's face out of my mind, with his incredibly gentle voice. I'm also happy because Mia, saw him as new friend who can see things like me, she tells me that Narrine she sees too. When I was a child and happily playing,I witnessed an incident. I while rushing running possibly because those people were trying to catch up with me, and when hit my head on to something.
When I woke up, I was in the hospital, something was on my head. And That's when I started seeing unexplainable beings. I've been to the doctor several times, but it only got worse. So I chose to stop going. Daddy was furious when he found out what happened to me. Even now, as a grown man, he calls me abnormal. Well, that's nothing new to me.
I'm the eldest son, but they don't treat me and my sibling equally as part of the family. But that doesn't matter to me anymore; what's important is to finish school and become successful. I know to my self that I'm intelligent. I come from a wealthy family, and my family is well-known All over the place. I just think of myself as an orphan. Even though my stepmother has been trying to win me over for decades, thinking that she's my ally in that house, I don't consider her as family. I don't have a family. Because the family I had is no more. My mom died when I was young, due to heart attack when she as a good sleep and didn't wake up., but I don't believe it. Because I have evidence that I've seen, and I still hold onto them. And I believe that her death was not natural.
My smile disappeared as I entered the living room. I was immediately greeted by my stepmom.
"How was your day? Did something good happen to you? Your smile looks beautiful. I hope it's always like that. You're becoming more handsome," she said. I gave her a faint smile.
Dad completely ignored me and went straight to the dining table. "Just Don't mind him. He's getting old," she said with a chuckle.
We followed them because the dinner is ready with our housemaids, Dad to the dining table and my step mom sat next to him. He still didn't acknowledge me or say anything but his favorite son hug and smile at him but I ignored it and He asked Him how his day was at school. While we were sitting at the table, quietly eating, Dad suddenly spoke up.
"The child of the Saavedra family is coming here tomorrow and transferring to our school," he said. I looked at Dad. "I know you know her. She's your ex, right? Why didn't you two continue your...?"
"I'll take care of it, Dad. You don't have anyone else to rely on," Thomas interrupted with a mocking smile. Dad burst into laughter. My stepmom shook her head and gave Thomas and Dad a disapproving look.
"Well, I'll entrust her to you. After all, it's you whom I expect to raise and continue my business," Dad said to me, as if slapping me again with the fact that I'm a worthless child. "What else can I expect from your abnormal brother? He should just talk to those lost souls. I'm sure he's busy seeking justice for them." They both laughed. I took a deep breath and continued eating as if I couldn't hear anything. This is how it always is. I may not be bullied outside, but inside this house, I am bullied, even by my own family.
I felt pain and regret from Dad's words. Even though he always said those things, I never quite got used to it, and it couldn't help but hurt me. But I didn't show them my sadness and disappointment. I continued eating quietly, pretending as if everything was normal.
I could feel my stepmom's gaze and movements, as if she wanted to convey her support for me. But she couldn't fight against the words that came out of Dad's mouth either. Our family is not perfect, and even though there are times when we get along, there are also moments of tension and hurt.
