After leaving the court, the mother went to the bathroom and started yelling and screaming at poor Jocelyn. Jocelyn was extremely upset and scared. Josh heard the commotion and went to the bathroom to find their mother yelling at Jocelyn. Josh opened the door and questioned why their mother was yelling at her. The mother told Josh to leave as it didn't concern him. Josh disagreed, stating that it did concern him when he could hear his sister being yelled at.

Jocelyn ran out of the bathroom and into her room. Josh expressed his disbelief at their mother's behavior, suggesting that no one would ever love her after what she did to Jocelyn. He then walked away to find his sister. Josh called out to Jocelyn, but she was too upset to recognize him. He tapped her back and reassured her that it was him. Jocelyn's fear increased, and Josh picked her up in his arms. They left to visit Carrie, who was at home and answered the door when they knocked. Carrie welcomed them inside. Josh asked if she had any water to help calm down Jocelyn, who had been crying a lot.

Carrie returned with the water and gave it to Josh. Josh thanked her.

Josh: Joc, Joc,

Jocelyn winced in pain.

Carrie: Is she okay?

Josh: Yeah, she just has an upset stomach from earlier.

Carrie: What happened?

Josh: Our mother is addicted to drugs and has been for our whole lives. The drugs took over her and she started yelling and screaming at Jocelyn. That's why we're leaving to live with our dad.

Carrie: So, does that mean we won't see each other again?

Josh: No, but it won't stop me and Jocelyn from loving you.

Carrie smiled at Josh's words.

Josh handed Jocelyn the water and she took it.

Josh: Here, drink it slowly, okay? I don't want you to choke.

Jocelyn nodded and drank the water slowly. She saw Carrie and smiled.

Carrie: Hi Jocelyn, I'll miss you guys.

Josh: We'll miss you too, babe.

Carrie: Come back and visit.

Josh: We'll try.

Carrie: I'll take that.

Josh smiled.

Josh: It's getting late, we should go.

Carrie: Hugs.

Carrie: Goodbye Joc, be good for your brother, okay? I'll miss you, but that won't stop me from loving you too.

Jocelyn smiled.

Carrie: Goodbye, I'll miss you.

Josh: We'll miss you too.

Carrie: I'll always love you.

Josh: Same here.

Josh and Carrie kissed before they left to go home and pack for their dad's.

After returning home from Carrie's, Jocelyn and Josh were fully focused on packing for their trip to their father's. Jocelyn herself got caught up in a conversation. Jocelyn was afraid that her mother would return and yell at her. Suddenly, their mother entered and said, "Hey, it's clean. Yeah, I can handle it. I've been doing that myself now." The mother noticed that Jocelyn was still upset and asked why she was still sad. Josh intervened, saying that their mother was being mean to Jocelyn.

The mother then expressed her frustration, saying, "Listen to me, I just can't do this anymore." Josh responded, accusing their mother of not taking care of them, and claimed that he had been the one taking care of Jocelyn. The mother defended herself, stating that she had been there for both of them since their father left. Josh questioned when she had ever been there for them. The mother mentioned that she had stopped doing drugs for their sake. Josh sarcastically responded, "Hm, good talk." This angered the mother, who asked what they wanted from her. Josh yelled back, saying they didn't want anything from her anymore.

Josh's yelling made Jocelyn cry, and he comforted her by hugging her tightly and rubbing her back. He apologized for yelling and upsetting her, expressing his confusion about what to do. Josh then handed Jocelyn water and asked if she was okay. Jocelyn nodded and confirmed that she was prepared for the night. Josh asked if she had her clothes for the night. Jocelyn simply nodded. Jocelyn informed Josh that she was experiencing pain in her stomach. Josh tenderly kissed his sister's head and reassured her, saying that it would get better and promising to take care of her.

Josh affectionately stroked Jocelyn's hair as she nodded, expressing her love for him. Josh responded by saying that he loved her even more and always would. A smile appeared on Jocelyn's face, knowing how deeply Josh cherished her. Josh spoke up, addressing Jocelyn and acknowledging that he couldn't replace their mother, but he promised to look after her and love her. Jocelyn widened her nod and planted a gentle kiss on Josh's cheek, prompting a grateful smile from him.

Josh instructed Jocelyn to finish packing, expressing their need to leave. Obediently, Jocelyn nodded and returned to her task. Soon, they made their way to the bus that would take them to the hotel. Jocelyn sat on her brother's lap during the bus ride, while Josh engaged in a heated argument with their mother. However, Josh shifted his attention from their mother to Jocelyn and asked if she was ready. Jocelyn nodded and pulled up her hood for protection. When Josh opened the door, Jocelyn got off his lap and they quickly gathered their belongings. Together, they hurried onto the bus. Josh found a seat and Jocelyn sat on his lap.

During the bus ride, Jocelyn struggled to fall asleep. Josh rubbed her back to help her relax and eventually she peacefully drifted off. They continued their journey to the hotel. After their arrival, Josh and Jocelyn went to their respective rooms, prepared for bed, and rested for the night. However, Jocelyn's peaceful slumber was abruptly disrupted by a horrifying nightmare. In her dream, she witnessed Josh being brutally attacked and desperately attempted to save him, only to discover his lifeless body. Overwhelmed by panic, Jocelyn became aware of the killer's presence and cried out in despair.

Suddenly awakened, Jocelyn disturbed the tranquility of the room. Trying not to disturb Josh, she left the bed and sought solace elsewhere. Observing Jocelyn's departure, Josh woke up and hurriedly went to her side. With weary eyes, he inquired about her well-being. Unsure of how to respond, Jocelyn swiftly ran towards her brother and embraced him tightly. Josh called out to her, inviting her to come closer, and enveloped her delicate frame in his arms.

He reassured Jocelyn that it was only a nightmare. Determined to comfort her troubled spirit, he gently guided her back to a state of calmness. Once she began to feel more at ease, Josh carefully assisted Jocelyn in sitting back down. Exhausted from the intense emotional ordeal, he eventually drifted off to sleep, his reassuring presence lulling Jocelyn into a peaceful slumber as well.
