LUNA

"Your...name?" I ask softly. What does she mean exactly?
I don't think I said her name... I'm trying to remember, but...it's all blank. All I can remember is slipping and falling. Everything else after that, it's empty.

She stares at me, waiting for an answer which I can't give.
"I can't remember what I said," I whisper, looking down at the bed I'm in.

She opens her mouth to speak, before she shuts it again.
Finally, she exhales. "It doesn't matter anyway," she mumbles, before she grabs handfuls of her skirt and squeezes before letting go.

"Where am I?" I look around at everything. It's a decorative little spot, feathers dangling off strings on the wall along with a bead door, a tiny nightstand in the corner with notepads stacked on top, and what seems to be handsewn blankets on the bed I'm sitting on.

She doesn't answer.
"Is this your home?" I ask, wondering if these people are actually homeless and might need help.
"Yes," she whispers, "it's my home."

"It's..." I don't know how to say it really. She lives in a cave with four boys next to the ocean.
"...it's nice," I settle with after a moment of silence.
She refuses to look at my face.

"Who were those four guys?" I ask, curiosity getting the best of me.
"My brothers," she answers, "just...please stop asking me personal questions." She rises from her chair, walking to the other side of the room and picking up a seagull feather.

I open my mouth to tell her that I'm sorry, but a pain makes my head ring.
I hiss. "Ow."
"Don't touch," she comes to my side, lowering my hand that I was raising to where the pain hurt worse. "You hit your head pretty hard."

"I can see that," I mumble, "do you know the time?"
She shakes her head, and my gaze falls to my lap. I feel so stupid and embarrassed right now...I'm a complete stranger who followed them to there home, only to hit my head and have this girl take care of me.

I sigh, burying my face in my arm.
Lord, end me now.

A few minutes of silence passes between us, before she glances at me. "Why did you follow me here?" She asks.
I raise my head. The question I've been waiting for...but seriously? How can I answer this without sounding like a desperate fool?

I exhale. "You remind me of someone I used to know," I say.
"Who?" She asks.
The pressure is on.
"My sister," I sigh, head lowering. "She ran away six years ago. When I saw you at the concert, I couldn't help but realize that you look just like her..." I trail off, swallowing, "but you're not."

"What was her name?" She asks, hands on her lap.
"Star," I reply, before the girl quickly jumps up, her face in complete horror.

She backs up against the stone wall, one hand clenched over her heart as she stares at me with wide, shocked eyes.
"What's wrong?" I ask, a little nervous, thinking I said something wrong.

"Tell me your name."
I furrow my brow. "I don't know why you-"
"Just tell me your name," she raises her voice, making me jump a little at her sudden change from calm to freaked out.

"Luna," I answer.
She shakes her head. "No...it can't be."
"What can't be?! I..." I trail off, realization slowly sinking in.

Oh my God...
This girl...is she?

I sit up slowly, hands firmly placed on the bed.
None of us can speak. She's frozen, I'm frozen...
Yet so many words are right on my tongue, I can't find the way to say them correctly.

Her eyes begin to water as her breathing becomes shaky.
"Only the real Luna would know this," she says, "when I was eight years old, I did something that I would always use as a lesson to never overeat."

My eyes widen.
This is Star...
"You snuck downstairs after everyone went to sleep and ate six slices of chocolate cake. Not only did you have headaches, you had a stomach ache for two days straight."

She runs to me, throwing her arms around me and sobbing into my shoulder.
I wrap my arms around her, squeezing. It is Star...
After so long, after so many sleepless nights, worried that she would never come back, she's standing right in front of me...

"You're okay," I say through a sob, "I knew I would find you one day!"

"Luna," she pulls away to look at me, her face tear stained and red. "I-" she croaks, "I can't believe it's really you."
I hug her again, refusing to let her go, worried that she'll disappear again if I do.
"I have so many questions," I say, "what happened after you left? Where did you go? How did you end up HERE?!"

She laughs softly, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. "I can ask you the same thing."
I laugh through my cries as well. My heart is pounding out of my chest so fast and hard I can't believe Santa Carla can't hear it.

"I'm so glad you're okay!" I whisper shout, taking her hands into mine and shaking her arms.
She laughs a little more as tears stream down her face. "When did you come to Santa Carla?" She asks a moment after our emotional outburst.

"I moved here a few weeks ago because of Dad's work."
Her eyes widen at the mention of Dad.
"Mom and Dad, are they...?" She begins to ask, but I smile widely and nod my head. "They're doing fine. They'll be so happy to see you Star!"

Suddenly, her face changes to the horrified look she had just moments ago.
"No, no I... I can't." She whispers.
"You can't?" I furrow my brow, "can't what?"
Star shakes her head. "I can't see Mom and Dad. I, can't come back home."

"Bu-" my heart shatters, "but why? Star, do you know how long we've searched for you? How long we've missed you?! You have to come back home!"
How could she say this?! After six years of praying to find her, she's still pushing us away?!

Her face saddens. "Luna-"

"Star?"

Both our heads flip towards where we heard the voice.
Standing in the curtain doorway are the four boys.
Star's eyes widen and her lips part, and my heartbeat picks up.

The platinum blond glances between us.
"What's going on here girls?'
