Chapter 1

 It was supposed to be a normal day in the community, it was supposed to be the normal routine of every other day, but something was different, something was missing, someone was missing. Fiona thought to herself worried, what I was missing? She asked herself as she biked to work, I Woke up, got ready, had breakfast with my family unit, and I'm going to bike to training with Jonas. Then Fiona stopped herself. Jonas, where was Jonas?

"He probably just went early to training" she whispered to herself, calming herself down when Asher started bicycling in.

"Hey Fiona!" He shouted excitedly. Fiona jumped a bit, surprised by her best friend Asher joining her. Expecting Jonas instead.

"Hey Jo-" stopping herself, Precision of language, she thought to herself. Hoping no one important enough to chastise her Heard that "I mean Asher, I apologize for calling you Jonas" she said nervously

"I accept your apology Fiona" he said as if he doesn't care, just saying it because it was required. As they biked to training together Fiona knew that Asher wanted to say something because he was awfully quiet while they biked, but didn't want to break the rule of rudeness. So she asked,

"Have you seen Jonas?" She said, curiously wondering if maybe Asher knew where he was.

"No, he's probably with the old receiver" Asher replied ignorantly

"Yeah I guess, I assumed that too" Fiona smiled wondering why she cared so much about it.

"Why? Do you think something bad happened?" Asher asked in a concerned tone

"No- well yes and no, it just feels different to bike to training without him" she said nervously, why am I so worried? She asked herself

" Yeah, it is a bit weird without Jonas, but he will probably ride home with us." He said, trying to ease Fiona. As they arrived at their destination they stopped to say goodbye when they heard something on the speakers. Excuse me, do not panic, but the receiver in training is missing. If any information is known please report to the council of elders.

Fiona and Asher looked at each other saying "Jonas is missing " they said at the same time looking at each other. Fiona felt shocked, frozen even and she could tell that Asher was too because his jaw dropped.

"What? Jonas went missing?" Asher said in a worried voice. "Where could he have gone?" He seemed to keep getting more worried. As Fiona thought to herself she thought of something horrible.

"What-wha-what if Jonas went to the river...?" She said very nervously.

" No-no he couldn't have. Right? Jonas wouldn't do that?" He said, trying to calm himself and Fiona. When all of a sudden the speaker said, reminder- people must be at their assigned school, training center, or workplace in 15 minutes. "Well you better get going Fiona" he said pushing aside everything else.

"Y-yeah, I should, we'll figure it out later. Bye Asher" Fiona said, very worried. As Fiona biked to training she tried to stop thinking about Jonas, but what else could she think about? She arrived at the place of the old when her training began. It was the same as always she thought to herself, except she was off. Instead of thinking about her job and focusing on the training, all she could think about was Jonas and the river.
