Journey to The Elsewhere (The Giver)

Chapter 8

"Let's go." Joey said with confidence to his best friend Samantha as they took each other's hands.

"Let's do this!" She replied with a big smile on her face. They both ran up the hill.

"You ready?" Asher said with a nervous smile on his face.

"Mhm, we got this." She said nervously as she paused, "Let's find our missing best friend!" She said with a smile, also taking his hand.

Asher and Fiona talked about what they are going to say to Jonas when they get there and what they are going to do. After about a hour later of walking up a mountain dragging their bikes they made it to the top and they saw something that was brown and decorated with colors that looked like they were glowing.

"Dad? What's that?" Lily asked with a shocked look on her face.

"I-I think that's elsewhere." He said as his jaw dropped. As everyone looked down the hill they felt shocked and happy, going to cry. Fiona couldn't Help but to think about the olden days where emotions didn't exist and they didn't know what love was. She thought about the memories, her own memories with Jonas and Asher, where time just flew by them and now they will be reunited once and for all. The angelic glow of the house was the best thing in the world to see and then felt someone take her hand. It was Asher, the one who was always laughing, Asher the one who always got in trouble, and Asher the friend who Fiona has seen grow since he was a 3, and Asher the boy who went on this trip to find their best friend, and Asher the boy who was really Fiona's best friend took her hand.

"There's only one way to find out!" Joey said, grabbing onto Samantha's hand and pulling her down the mountain, rolling down in the soft white thickness in snow. Everyone could hear them screaming and laughing. They looked like they were having so much fun and Lily wanted to join.

"May I join father!?" Lily asked very excitedly

"I don't know Lily-Billy" he said with a smile poking her in the stomach "As long as I can join!" He said very excited as he pulled her down with him into snow.

"I guess it's our turn huh Fiona?" He said nervously with excitement.

"Mmhmm! We already made it this far!" She said with a big smile "On the count of 3?" Asher nodded. As they counted down from 3 they looked at each other and rolled down the mountain laughing and screaming with excitement. While Lia and Christopher rolled down the safe way holding on to each other.

As they came down they could finally see a home. Made of dark wood and covered in bright, colorful, and magical lights.

"Wow, we made it." Asher said in shock.

"I really can't believe it. Who would've known we made it?" Fiona said

"I really could've never dreamed of this, never." Joey said taking it all in

"Me too Joey, me too" Samantha replied, hugging his arm.

"This is just astonishing," Lia said with her mouth wide open.

"Do you think we'll find Jonas?" Lily said in a tired and concerned voice.

"Of course." Her father said they were sure they were going to find him.
