As the days passed they all learned much about their world. They learned suffering, happiness, love and many more. As the last day of the week had just arrived everyone went to go see the giver. Saying goodbye and in their newfound emotions felt sadness. Everyone has said their goodbyes except Fiona and Asher.

As Fiona walked to the Giver she could already see the tears on his cheek from Jonas's sister Lily, who went before her. "Goodbye, Giver." Fiona said in sorrow "You've taught me so much in only a week."

The giver chuckled "Goodbye Fiona, you remind me so much of Jonas. I will miss you." They hugged each other and went the other way. The giver stood looking like he was ready to go get a realest when he started to speak.

"Before I go, does anybody have any last question for me?" The giver said in a louder tone so everyone could hear. Everyone sat in silence as they thought to themselves. When Fiona was thinking someone said

"I do giver." Lily said in a shy voice. Stroking her braids.

"Yes, Lily?" The giver said with a smile.

"Do you know where Jonas is?" Lily asked in very nervously. The Giver became silent. Fiona looked at him deep in thought.

"Yes, I do Lily, he is elsewhere." The giver answered in a timid voice stroking his beard. "And I think, if you would want to" he paused for a moment. "You could find him" Fiona felt shocked Asher mouthed dropped.

"Huh? We could find Jonas?" Asher said confused

"Yes, Asher you could. If you are interested in finding elsewhere or Jonas you all may stay with me for a while and we will think of a way to find out. If you are not interested you all may leave and thank you for taking care of this community" the Giver said, almost tearing up again. As the people left, Fiona knew that she wanted to find Jonas again and so did Asher. They told him everything about the community and how it changed while he was gone. As the room started to deplete it was only Asher, Lily, Jonas's parents, and about 5 other people.

"Thank you all for staying, to warn you this trip will be very difficult to do, but possible." He said very calmly.

"How do you know this is possible?" A person who Fiona did not know the name of wearing a black tunic and blue pants said raising his hand very curiously.

"Well, you got the memories out of nowhere, not from me. So, Jonas must have made it to elsewhere." The person nodded back at him. "We are going to follow Jonas's plan, but less complicated because the rules won't hurt us anymore. We are all going to save our food and ask for extra for your trip. Considering it took about 6 days for the memories to be released to us we will need 3 days because you guys won't be hiding in trees most of the time. You are going to cross the bridge by the river, and move forward until you find elsewhere. And hope that someone will find you." Everyone in the room nodded with agreement. "I'll stay an extra day to make sure you have all the food you need"

"Are you sure Giver? You don't have to, you have already done so much for us." Asher said concerningly.

"Yes, I'm sure, it won't be a problem." He replied happily.

Everyone left the house wondering if the plan was going to work. If Jonas actually made it or he died and that's why memories got released. As Fiona biked home with Asher they overheard Lily talking to her parents.

"Why do you think Jonas took Gabe with him father? I really miss him." Lily said in a sad tone.

"Well Lily, since you are going to leave tomorrow I'm going to be honest with you." He paused for a moment. "You see. As you know we were about to release Gabe and Jonas really loved him you know?"

"Yes father, I love you" Lily replied patiently

"Well, when you release someone, they die." Lily's father said very nervously.

Die? The giver was going to die?  Fiona realized. She looked at Asher and seeing if he heard that too, he did.

"Die? Does that mean the giver is going to die?" He asked Fiona

"I think so. How sad.." She replied motionless, feeling her heartbeat drop in sadness.
