taerin quietly sat in class as she waited for chaewon to come so they could discuss the homework. when she finally showed up, they started talking about their school work.
"hey i know this is random but, does your brother like, you know, like someone" she awkwardly
asked, trying not to make it obvious.taerin immediately caught on. excitement filled her body as she prepared her gossip for next time she saw taerae. she calmly answered, "maybe, why"
"oh i don't know why i even asked, just curious" she nervously replied, her fingers fiddling through the pages of the book. taerin smiled to herself, knowing the bombshell she would drop on taerae later. "kang chaewon, you have just made my life easier." she mumbled to herself as she wrote on her notebook.
"hey rin, whats up?" junhyeon yelled across the room as he walked to the table in front of taerin, sitting on the seat and turning around to see what the two girls were doing.
"nothing much, just doing some school work." taerin replied, her eyes focused on the paper.
"boring~ whats that?" he leaned closer, pointing to what was on the sheet of paper. taerin raised her head to see what junhyeon was talking about, without realizing their faces were inches away. remembering the incident from yesterday, she immediately pulled away out of embarrassment. "oh um, this is for math its some equations or whatever" she stuttered as she was trying to explain.
moments later, some other students came in. taerae, gyuvin, and gunwook bickering as they stepped into class. taerins face lit up as she saw her brother come in, she couldn't wait to tell him all the news.
"hey taeraeee, come here real quick" she called her brother over. he got nervous as he stepped closer, seeing chaewon beside taerin. gunwook and gyuvin naturally followed taerae, so there was just this group of people surrounding this one table. taerin was overwhelmed by the amount of students in the class so, she just decided she would tell him later.
taerin was chatting with gunwook about the school work. considering he was class president, she needed his advice. as they were talking, taerin accidentally made eye contact with gyuvin from across the room. she immediately looked away from embarrassment and pretended she was looking at something else. she just physically couldn't look at him.
"taerin? are you listening?" gunwook smiled, waving his hand back and forth across her face.
"oh, yeah. i am" she stuttered, then awkwardly laughing to ease the tension.
"are you okay? have you been eating well?" he worriedly asked as he tried to examine taerins being.
"i'm fine gunwook, i just feel lightheaded i guess" she awkwardly replied.
"you better be fine kim taerin. if you're not feeling okay, tell me. i'm the class president after all so it is my job to take care of our students." gunwook proudly stated, then patting taerin on the back as an attempt to motivate her.
"thanks dude, you're an actual angel." she smiled, lightly hitting him on the arm as she walked back to her seat.
taerin looked at the paper as she tried to figure the equation out. her brain was foggy, it was like all the weight in the world just stacked on top of her head. she sighed, "what does this even mean.." squinting her eyes as she tried to read the page.
"gunwook is right, you look like you're on drugs" taerae chuckled, leaning his body on the table.
"thanks taerae, you're a lot of help." she sarcastically replied in a sassy tone as she played with her pencil.
"is this about yesterday? if it is then stop being a loser and just confess to him already" he bluntly replied, trying to knock some sense into her head.
"i cant" she whined, leaning her head on the back of her chair.
"why the hell not?" taerae asked in confusion.
"because i think i like someone else" she whispered, putting her hand near her mouth so no one would see or hear. taerae stood there in utter shock. he didn't even know what to reply with at this point. he looked around, trying to figure out who his sister might be talking about until it all clicked.
"ohhhh you like junh-"
"SHUSH" she yelled, immediately getting up and slapping her hand onto taeraes mouth from embarrassment, "what if he heard you dude? you're so dense i swear" she stuttered, looking at the ground.
"he's right there, you know i could just go over there expose you" taerae giggled, trying to scare her.
"chaewon's right there too so watch your mouth nerd" she rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms.
"wow you're officially the worst" taerae sighed, getting up to go to his seat.
"runs in the family" she replied, hitting him on the shoulder before he left. taerin sat by herself quietly writing until a familiar figure put his bag on the seat beside hers. she looked up, "oh hey yujin"
"hey noona, can i sit here? gyuvin hyung ditched me for ricky hyung" he sulked, pointing to their table.
"of course you can, come here" she softly replied, patting the seat beside hers. han yujin might have been a giant compared to her but she treated him like her little brother considering their 2 year age gap.
the bell rang, the teacher walking inside as all the students rushed over to their seats. as the class started, she noticed yujin writing on a piece of paper. taerin didn't think much of it until he passed it to her. she quietly picked it up, reading the sentence written.
"noona do u think gyuvin hyung is good looking"
she silently let out a laugh, seeing what was going on. yujin was trying to set them up.
"he is good looking actually"
"do u think he's funny"
"yes"
"would u date him"
her eyes widened at the question. she looked over to yujin who was patiently waiting for her to answer. she had to quickly write something that would be a casual answer.
"whyyy :("
"yujin this isn't tinder idk what u want me to say"
"he talks abt u like 24/7 trust me it gets tiring :p"
"tell him to shut up then"
"ok! :)"
she smiled at the paper, finding it cute how yujin was trying to help his friend out. unfortunately taerin didn't return his feelings so it was just awkward now.
the bell rang, it was finally break time after a long boring frustrating lesson with mr.han.
taerin sighed as she walked out of class to get her books out of the locker, being followed by the excited junhyeon. he walks behind her, wrapping his arm around her. she looks up and smiles.
"hey rin, you okay? you need to resttt" junhyeon pouts.
"trust me i'm okay, i don't know why everyone keeps asking me. do i look sickly ugly today or what" she whined, rubbing her eyes.
"first of all, you legit can never be ugly. second, you're literally walking lopsidedly and missing an earring" junhyeon stated.
"what?" she asked, looking down at her legs that were visibly walking weirdly. then feeling her ears, once which was in fact missing an earring, "oh" she added in disappointment.
"don't worry, lets go eat something I'm hungry" he smiled, dragging taerin across the school.
