⚠️SmutToni wasn't known for being good in school. In fact, she was quite the opposite. But, this week really was a new record for her. It was only Wednesday and she had already been threatened with suspension three times.
The first was when her history teacher, caught her smoking weed too close to the school grounds. The second was when a guy in her English group made a sexist comment about a girl in another class, explaining how this poor girl deserved the harassment that had come her way recently because of her new 'slutty style'. Toni had punched him square in the jaw. In Toni's defence, the jackass deserved it. The principal didn't see it that way though.
The third, and arguably the worst, was when she rigged the school's already faulty intercom to blast an obscene audio compilation from some old porn videos she had found in one of the Serpent's bags. That one she could admit was deserved, as they weren't able to shut it off until the end of second period. She had started it at the beginning of first period, after the morning announcements. With most of these incidents, her girlfriend, Cheryl, simply regarded her with amusement and a hint of exasperation.
But what was the icing on the cake was when, only hours later at cheer practice, Toni either purposely or accidentally (Cheryl wasn't sure which) dropped Veronica after a particularly hard stunt. Thankfully Veronica wasn't injured. However, Cheryl, ever the upholder of the team, pulled Toni aside to shout at her about the dangers of foul play. To her surprise, Toni had simply rolled her eyes and stormed off. She was going to go after her, but was stopped by only Veronica's hand on her wrist telling her to let it go.
Toni made her way through the school parking lot. She couldn't bear to go back in there and finish practice. She found glimmers of satisfaction in the appalled reactions of her peers and especially her teachers, but mainly acted out because she really didn't want to be in that place anymore. If she were being honest, the only reasons she had not dropped out yet were the guarantee of losing her place on the cheer team and also the threat of Cheryl's clear disappointment. A rush of panic surged up her body as she heard running from behind her.
A voice called her name. The muscles in her body relaxed as she recognised the voice as her girlfriend's. Toni turned around and winced at the expression of annoyance on the taller girl's face. Cheryl caught up with her quickly. "What the hell was that?" She was barely out of breath, compared to a stationary Toni who breathed a little shakier to see her upset. "Uh-" she stammered, taking her hand out of her pocket and running her fingers through her hair.
"I don't know" the shorter girl shrugged nonchalantly, unintentionally stirring the fire that was blazing in Cheryl. "Are you serious right now? You don't know? You can't just act like that, they could've suspended you for fucks sake! Kicked you off the team! Then what the hell would happen to States?" Toni suppressed the urge to scoff. Is that seriously all Cheryl cares about?
"Sorry" is all Toni could muster, staring down at the leather of her boots. "Whatever T," Cheryl folded her arms and scoffed, before moving to turn around and walk back into the school building. Toni knew she wanted to get back to practice. Cheryl's concern must've outweighed her anger though as she turned back to the brunette who was still staring at the ground. "Do you need a ride home?" Toni cracked a smile at that, knowing how much her girlfriend truly did care even when Toni was acting up. "I'm ok, Cher." Cheryl nodded, "I'm gonna get back to practice, I'll see you later, love you."
Toni didn't get a chance to say it back, as by the time she looked up, her girlfriend was gone.
The rest of the week went rather quickly. She still got into issues with teachers and students alike, but the weekend on the horizon kept her mostly at bay. That weekend, she was supposed to go to Cheryl's and spend the weekend there. However, after the events of the week, she was uncertain if that was still going ahead. But Toni decided she'd show up anyways. Even though it would hurt if her girlfriend turned her away, she would understand why.
