Toni POV

I was currently sat in a restaurant in the middle of LA, bored out of my mind. Fangs had set me up on a date with one of his friends, much to my protest. I became even more unwilling to go once I found out that I was being set up with a guy. Don't get me wrong, I find men attractive but I just never seem to get that connection with men the way I do with women.

So I didn't have high hopes for the date, and so far, my predictions were correct. He was a good looking guy but oh my god, the personality did not match. I was trying my best to look interested in the conversation but it was kinda hard considering all he was talking about was birds and different types of wood. Yeah I don't understand either.

That was when I looked up to see the most beautiful girl walk in. I was in a trance as I watched her walk to a table where a man was already seated. I watched closely at the interaction as they greeted each other. The man stood up and kissed her cheek and then pulled out her chair for her. I couldn't work out if they were on a date or if that was actually her boyfriend.

My focus was back on the girl in an instant. She was wearing a dark red dress that looked very glamorous and expensive, hugging all of her curves perfectly. She had long ginger hair which was lightly curled.

I couldn't stop looking at her. Knowing my luck, the guy opposite her was most likely her boyfriend. I wouldn't have a chance with a girl like her anyways. I mean, I've got a nice, available guy right in front of me. What more could I want? That very thought made me remember he was still talking. I quickly snapped out of my daydream to attempt to focus on him again. He was still talking about fucking birds.

Although I tried not to look over at her, I couldn't help it. My eyes kept wandering over to her table and I watched as she laughed at something the man said. I don't know what it was, but something made me think that it was a fake laugh. It was still beautiful to see her smile nonetheless, but she didn't look exactly comfortable with this man. Maybe I was just overthinking it.

As I went to avert my gaze away from her, she locked eyes with me. I don't mean to be cliche here, but I've never felt anything like it. My heart dropped slightly, my breath hitched and my stomach literally flooded with a swarm of butterflies, something I've never felt before. Judging by the look in her eyes, I could tell she felt something similar.

Our gaze held as a wave of confidence washed over me. I smirked and gave her a subtle wink which left her looking slightly flustered but she quickly regained her composure.

I dragged my eyes away from her to the man in front of me again. This time, I pushed the conversation away from birds and began asking him questions about his job. I still wasn't that interested if I'm being honest, but I had to try to distract myself from the beautiful redhead across the restaurant.

I felt her eyes on me again and I couldn't resist not looking. My eyes connected with hers once again. My eyes fell to her hand where she had the white tablecloth that was covering the table in between two fingers. She was twirling her fingers around the light material and smoothing it over. I gulped heavily and brought my eyes back up to hers. She smirked, knowing exactly what she was doing and knowing she had got my attention. I felt my core heat up and I shifted in my seat uncomfortably.

I was wearing a short skirt that was risen up even higher because i was sat down and I watched as her eyes raked down to my legs. Even from across the restaurant, I could practically see the lust pouring out of her eyes.

Two can play at that game, I thought as I decided to tease back. Dessert had arrived at our table a few minutes prior so i picked up a chocolate covered strawberry and bit into the fruit as seductively as possible, locking eyes with the mysterious girl as I did so. I ran my tongue over my lips as I finished. I had to hold back a laugh at her expression. Her mouth was slightly open, eyebrows raised slightly and her eyes getting darker by the second. I simply smirked back, pleased with myself at being able to get the girl flustered.
