Previously on The Story Continues: (Y/N) began to tuck Lizzie in before looking at the little girl. "I'm sorry about your dad, sweetie." Lizzie looked at (Y/N) hands then back at the sick older woman. "Carol let us come in and say goodbye... have you lost someone?" (Y/N) gave the little girl a sad smile as she gave a tiny nod. "I did, he was like my brother... protecting me from all of the evil. When I went to stop him from fighting the evil alone... it was too late. But when I was a kid... my one friend and I would always part ways with one saying. Endure and survive, I feel like Merle would want me to do just that."

"I'm sorry." (Y/N) quickly shook her head and placed her hand onto the little girl's head gently. "It's alright, dove. Try and rest." Once Lizzie was tucked into the bed (Y/N) walked out of the cell to see Hershel without a mask and a box. "Hershel... you shouldn't be here." The older man shook his head. "I'm able to help so I'm going help. Sit." (Y/N) sat down onto the steps as he got a cup of tea ready for her. "Drink, it'll help the flu symptoms."

'Indifference'

3rd POV

(Y/N) lurched up gagging, as coughs soon followed after. She placed her hand over her mouth only to see it quickly covered in blood, causing her eyes to go wide before she quickly wiped her hand onto her pants. "Shit..." (Y/N) glanced up at her cell door, making eye contact with Lizzie who looked at the older sick woman. "Are you okay?" Lizzie placed her hand onto her arm, eye's laced with concern.

"I'm alright, sweetie." The lie slipped through her lips easier than any lie before, the little girl walked more into (Y/N)'s cell. "Carol is here to see me but I don't want to go alone..." (Y/N) smiled before she stood up. "I'll take you if you'd like." Lizzie quickly walked over to (Y/N) and grabbed her hand.

Both walked silently down to the execution chamber, Carol waiting on the other side of the glass. "Go on in and I'll be right by the door." Lizzie walked in slowly looking around as (Y/N) found herself sitting on the floor attempting to rest. Lizzie knocked onto the window gaining Carol's attention. "Ma'am?" Carol stopped fiddling with her knife and looked to the knock. "Hi, Lizzie." Carol glided closer to the window. "They told me to come down here, so I had (Y/N) come with me."

"Are you okay?" Lizzie gave a small nod before looking back at the entry way where (Y/N) was sitting. "Good. I wanted to see you because I'm going on a run with Rick." Lizzie looked down. "Do you think Daryl's dead?"  Carol shook her head quickly. "He had to go far away to get the medicine, so it's gonna take a while. We lost all our food in cell block D, so we're gonna go look for more and whatever else we can find."

"Nobody's died yet." Carol's eyebrow's creased as she leaned closer to the window. "Yet?" Lizzie again looked back at (Y/N), her eyes closed and her head leaning against the wall. "(Y/N) woke up coughing up blood, I think a lot of people are going to die. It's what always happens. Makes me sad, but... at least they get to come back." Carol's eyes shot to her friend before going back to Lizzie while she shook her head.

"Lizzie, when they come back, they aren't- people aren't who they were." Lizzie stopped looking at (Y/N) and turned all of her focus to the older woman. "Yeah, but they're something. They're someone. I'm little now, If I don't die, I'll get big. I'll be me, but I'll be different. It's how it is. We all change. We all don't get to stay the same way we started."

"Lizzie, it's more complicated-" Carol gave a gentle smile before Lizzie continued. "You said I was weak. I'm not. I'm strong, so I'm telling you what I think." The older woman put herself to the level of the little girl while maintaining eye contact. You remember what I told you to do when there's danger?"
