Eve's POV

One week later

"When I become president, I'm going to make sure we get better lunches," Belly said as she played with her food.

Aaron rolled his eyes. "When will you shut up about this?"

"When I win," she answered while sticking out her tongue to him.

He stuck out his tongue to her.

"Grow up you two," Chase muttered.

The doors of the cafeteria burst open and there came Haze with his crew closely following behind.

When I saw him, it felt like the world topped spinning.

He walked in with confidence like he owned the place; well, he practically did. It was an unwritten rule.

He wore a black sweatshirt with white writing on it and a baggy jeans. His dark, silky hair was neatly combed, and he wore a chain around his neck.

Chase groaned, "that guy seriously needs to be humbled."

"All he did was walk in," I made the mistake of saying.

Chase looked at me. "You can't seriously be trying to defend that tyrant."

Everyone suddenly looked at me.

"I wasn't," I quickly defended myself while looking down at my food.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

"I told you guys I can take down that guy easily," Aaron said to rescue me.

Belly and I laughed.

"On the bright side, he hasn't been tormenting any of us," Belly highlighted.

"Neither his goons," Aaron added.

"That's because they're so busy with the upcoming match that they barely have time to remember their names but trust me; once this match is over, trouble will be coming our way," Chase said.

"Don't be such a pessimist," I said.

"Don't be such a pessimist," he mocked.

I rolled my eyes before watching Haze and his crew walk to their usual spot in the cafeteria.

Once he sat down, his eyes landed straight on me.

He winked at me which caused me to blush and look away. The group had now moved on to a next topic.

"My mom said I don't need a woman in my life," Aaron said.

Chase stared at Aaron. "Have you ever kissed a girl before Aaron?"

I turned to Chase. "Why'd you ask him that?"

Chase simply shrugged while wrapping his arms around Belly.

"Why don't you kiss him, Evie?" Belly joked.

Aaron and I awkwardly looked at each other.

"Come on, I can sense the sexual tension between you two. We could go on double dates!" she continued.

I tuned them out before taking a glance at Haze.

He was already watching.

He motioned to the door and my eyes widened.

"Now?" I silently mouthed and he nodded.

He was crazy. We were in the middle of lunch.

I shook my head vigorously.
