Chapter four
"Where is Colson?!" The director of the shoot shouted for the third time.
"I want him here now!"
"Ariana!" He continued.
"I didn't hire him! So don't talk to me like that! I'll call him." She rolled her eyes and walked off set.
She rang him and he didn't answer.
Ari🖤: Get your ass here! The director is on set today and he's giving me heat over you Baker!
K🥵💕: Colson isn't here right now, he's kinda passed out high...
Ari🖤: Who tf is this?
K🥵💕: Umm...a friend.
Ari🖤: Well wake his ass up and text me right before his Uber leaves.
K🥵💕:K
She sighed and crossed her arms, decided she would chill out somewhere other than where the director was. She played on her phone and saw the text notification.
K🥵💕: leaving now
She headed outside since she knew the hotel was five minutes from the shoot destination. She stood there sipping a bottle of iced water.
She saw a car roll up and she waited to see if it was Colson. It was, and he looked awful, he stumbled and almost fell straight into her.
"Why would you get high right before work?"
"I...I...was...I was stressed. I'm good, I'll be good, don't worry."
"Why would you be stressed?" She huffed as she walked inside with him.
"Drink this, and sober up." She handed him her water.
"Answer my question." She continued.
"No, it's not your business!..." He snapped.
"You better not catch an attitude with me. You hear? She sassed.
They parted ways as he went to go and get styled on set .
She walked to her dressing room and sat down in the chair. She saw Nonna walk in not long after. She hugged her grandma.
"Nonna I need advice."
"What is it now?" The woman asked playfully as she laughed.
"It's stupid but, I think I might have experienced love at first sight, well not first...sight, but it's kinda...taboo?" She cringed.
"And I know for a fact he's on the same page as me, and if I tell him now I'll scare him off." She mumbled.
"Honey...."
"Nonna." She sighed.
"Just give it time, you don't need to be moving on too fast after Pete, And I'm sure whoever this guy is, he will show you some affection eventually."
"You know how men are with their feelings, you'll get every other emotion before he tells you he loves you." Her Nonna continued.
"Well I know you guys are all leaving after today, so I'm glad I talked to you." She hugged onto the older woman, and enjoyed the familiar homey feeling.
"Ari?" They both jumped to see Kells.
"Hey I'm Colson I'm working on set and I'm...I guess we're friends." He smirked, almost proud of the statement. He never imagined he would see Ari as a real, genuine friend.
"Colson, this is my Nonna." Ari smiled.
"You're a fine young man." She raised her eyebrow and laughed at the way Ari covered her face in embarrassment.
"And you're quite a beautiful lady, just like your granddaughter." He smiled.
The older woman scanned Colson's face and looked back at the way Ari was giggling, and just from the reaction, she knew this was the man that Ariana must have been talking about.
"He's cute Ari." She whispered when Colson left after he was called to set.
"Yeah?"
"I know that's the guy." She chuckled.
"What?" Ari giggled.
"He seems...a little different from all the others, you just gotta break through that shell of his, the one that's covered in tattoos, piercings. Just be careful...I don't want you to get hurt again."
She nodded.
——-
Ariana was on a break on her phone in her room. She heard a knock.
"Come in!" She called out.
She assumed it was her assistant since her family had gone home, but it wasn't.
"Hey." Colson said as he walked in.
"Hey." She smiled.
"We actually get a break today huh?" He chuckled.
"Yeah...what's up?" She asked, since she noticed his smile fall flat.
"I'm gonna tell Pete." He sighed.
"Wait?! Why?" She asked standing up.
"He has to know. I can't sit there with him tonight and not tell him."
"What! Why would he travel all the way here?"
"Fuck." He knew he'd almost slipped up, he was relieved that she didn't figure it out.
"He doesn't need to know." She hugged him.
"Ariana, he's my friend."
"What does it matter, it was one time!"
"It matters because I actually think I want to pursue this." He sighed.
"Do what you want. I'm gonna head to the hotel in a few minutes." She replied.
"I can't avoid it Ari, don't be like that."
"You can't avoid it?"
"He's here..right down the fucking hall." He sighed.
She began grabbing her things.
"Ariana! Don't go!"
"What number? What door number?! The end of the hall is 230, is it 230?" She huffed.
Colson got up from the chair.
"You owe me, so tell me...I will knock on every single door." She didn't even look up at him since she felt so angry.
"Yeah...it's 230."
"Ariana! What about the shoot?"
"Fuck you! And fuck the shoot."
She stuck her middle finger up behind her as she stormed off.
