It was MONDAY.
She hated Mondays, everyone (almost everyone) hated Mondays. Who likes the word Monday in general?
The class she was currently in was PE. This was the last class of the day. She didn't have to take this class, but she didn't want to take any other class that had to do with literal education. PE here was just playing a sport like soccer or basketball, or just sitting down and not giving a fuck.
"Brooklyn, go join them or you get no credit for today!" Teacher shouted as she stood there with her clipboard. Eliza was sitting on the ground with her headphones on, she was about to put on a tune but I guess that's not going to happen.
"Are the 15 people sitting here going to join too..or just me?" She muttered, placing her headphones and phone down. "I swear this gotta be racially motivated."
She walked over to the group of students playing basketball and joined in. She didn't know which team she was on and honestly didn't care.
"Take the ball, I hate basketball." Her friend told her as she passed her the ball.
"Yeah no shit."
She dribbled the ball as she had no idea what she was doing. She was never the person to play sports, she only watched them on tv with her father once in a while.
Alright whatever.
A little far from the hoop, she decided to try and make the shot. Hoping she would miss and they would kick her off.
She threw the ball at an angle..and made it in.
"Oh you've gotta be fucking kidding me." She groaned as the others cheered. Since when was she good at basketball?
"Since when were you ever good at basketball?" Her friend Madalyn asked her as they sort of stepped away from the game. Madalyn was the type of person that you could count on for anything. She once acted like she hurt her leg and told the teacher that she fell down the stairs in order to get them both out of class.
She's extra, but she loves her.
"I was literally think the same thing." She chuckled as they were rudely interrupted.
"Less chitchat and more playing ladies!" The same coach yelled from across the gym.
"She has something against me I swear." She whispered as Madalyn laughed, "she has her favorites as you can see." She pointed towards them group of girls sitting on their phones.
Getting back to the game, Madalyn got passed the ball and started running. She cannot play any sport, even if the poor girl tried so hard.
Eliza stood there, just awkwardly waiting for someone to pass her the ball. She felt that she had more energy than usual, but she didn't want to play defense.
"Brooklyn help me out, I don't even know how to dribble a ball.." Madalyn panted as she was out of breath. She handed her the ball as she gave up. "Honestly think you should try soccer." She gave her some hope as she began to play.
After this failing shot, she was walking out of this gym. One person smelled like flavoured vape and the other just smelled like a perfume shop. But who's to judge?
As she tried to dribble the ball and get it over with, the ball stuck to her hand. There goes her luck. But now she looked dumb, standing there as everyone waited for her to pass it or try to make the shot.
"Are you going to pass it or what mate!" One shouted as some laughed.
"Well what the fuck do you think I'm trying to do?" She accidentally blurted out, making her look more..crazy.
"Just unstick it's not that hard.." She mumbled as others waited.
'Any day now..' She thought as she shook her hand, trying not to blow her cover.
"Calm down!" Someone shouted from the balcony.
Calm.
That was the most important step, and how could she forget it?
Someone made her calmer, in which it obviously worked as the ball unsticks from her hand.
"Here, take the ball." She smiled as she left the opponent confused. She ran towards her bag and grabbed it, along her headphones and phone. Looking up at the balcony, she noticed a particular figure leaned against the railing. It was actually Hobie who yelled calm down.
She pushed through the doors and quickly ran up the stairs.
"You're lucky your dads a captain!" She heard someone shout from the gym, probably coach but she didn't care. I mean, they were probably right.
"You forgot the important rule." She ran towards him as she abruptly stopped her pace noticing how close he was to the door. He looked down as he grabbed her bag off her shoulder. "But it's Monday." She responded. "You're blaming it on a day of the week?"
"Why wouldn't I?" She shrugged. Fair enough.
"Y'know I've actually finished your suit." He told her as her mood changed in the blink of a second. He was nervous to show her but also excited at the same time.
"It's been two days and your already done?" She asked him happily but also concerned. What is this man on?
"All you need is five cups of coffee and motivation."
'He was just like dad' she thought, as they headed down the main stairs, which lead to the front door of the school. "I need to see it as soon as possible." Eliza excitedly told him, in which this made him smile. Her happiness.
Opening the door for her, they continued out.
-ding!
Her phone received a notification. Stopping her tracks, she pulled her phone out of her pocket and unlocked it.

It was dad.
"That is so creepy." She looked up from her phone and looked around, spotting the cop car right in front of the school.
"I would believe that is your father." They walked closer to the car as he handed her her bag.
"Get in the car please." He sighed.
"Good day to you too." She fakely smiled as she opened the door.
"Will you also get in the car and stop standing there looking at my daughter?" He stated as he rolled up the window.
This was new.
"Could you have manners?" She questioned as she moved aside so he could sit next to her.
"I have manners."
"Yeah, I love how you put them to use."
