Eliza dreaded going to this class that she was heading to as of right now. Which was Physics. It's not that it's extremely hard, it's just absolutely fucking boring. But thats what she says for every single class she has.
"Brooklyn, happy to see you show up .. and late." The teacher stated as she walked into the full class with everyone's eyes on her. She shrugged, receiving a frown from the teacher and a marked late on the attendance sheet of paper.
She headed towards her seat and sat down next to her partner who was .. sleeping. She didn't blame him at all actually. She was sure everyone in this room would be sleeping if they had the choice.
Taking out her notebook and pencil, deciding on what to sketch, she heard a certain voice. "Yo, switch..thanks mate."
Eliza turned her perspective to the boy next to her, who was woken up and happily went to sit at the back. It was better for him anyways since he would be sleeping through the whole period.
"You're late." Hobie stated.
"You're early, is it Opposite Day?" She asked sarcastically as they both exchanged smiles.
She sat back into her chair as she focused on what the teacher was saying. But then she zoned out for a few seconds, she could never stay still and listen to someone talk for 40 minutes.
"Where's your notebook?" Eliza whispered and asked the boy next to her, but she still had her eyes focused on the projection.
"Somewhere in my room." He whispered back as only then she turned to look at him. He scratched the back of his neck. "Y'know I'll totally find it." He frowned.
"That's like your third notebook."
They paused. And after a few seconds, they broke out into laughter. They tried their best not to laugh loudly but this only did not work due to the class being dead silent. It was as if it made the situation funnier. They received looks but really couldn't care less.
Only a few minutes passed, in which it felt like forever. She hated how when she was having fun, the time would pass by fast, but when she was absolutely bored out of her fucking mind, it would go by so slow.
She clicked her pen, and grabbed his hand. This startling him since he was zoned out. She glanced up at him, "daily tattoo remember?" He shook his head and gave his approval. How could he ever forget, he secretly loved when she did this, it usually made his day.
Usually these little 'tattoos' as she called them, were small. A flower, a heart, anything she came up with he found adorable.
You could find this cringy, but he couldn't careless. No matter how old they were, this was far from cringy, at least for him.
In this moment, he had his full attention on her. He watched as she squinted her eyes when she drew. In which he picked up on that, that was how she focused. Her eyes becoming lighter in the sunlight as the sunshine hit them. Her regular scent of vanilla.
And the more he thought about it, he felt it was a little weird for him to think of these little things, and he brushed it off.
"One out of ten?" She asked him as she brought his hand closer to him, as if he couldn't do it himself. He slowly examined it, in what seemed to be a spider. His heart skipped a beat.
"Zero."
She frowned as she clicked her pen.
"Only kidding, I'll give it a ten."
"As you should, as you can see, I put my heart and soul into it." She scoffed as she leaned back into her chair, putting her hood up because it was chilly.
"Yeah, no kidding mate." He chuckled.
"How much time left?"
"25 minutes."
And with that, she placed her hands onto her face and hoped that time would go quicker so she wouldn't suffer in silence.
The clock ticked, time passed.
After a few minutes, they both were half asleep. Hobie almost fully leaned next to her, as she had her head laid on top of her arms.
— ringg !!!!
Students frantically grabbed their stuff and backpacks, almost running out of the class. This startled the both of them and quickly grabbed their stuff. Her trying to do the same, ended up dropping her pen onto the floor under the desk. "Dude."
She reached under her desk, not noticing what was next to her pen, she grabbed it. She felt a sharp pain in her hand, as she looked, she saw a spider crawling on her. "Fuck." She quickly pushed it off, accidentally killing it, she thought.
She stood up, pushing her chair in. Trying to locate her backpack to put her pen in, she noticed Hobie standing at the doorway. "You okay?" He questioned, with her bag on his shoulder.
"For sure, just dropped my pen." She quickly walked away from the desk as they both headed out. Giving a quick glance back into the room, noticing the spider still there.
