"It's been a few days since the incident happened. Ai will be discharged tomorrow," I thought, trying to process everything that had transpired. Not much had changed, except for one particular thing—a request from the president that felt more like an order.
"You'll become Ai's bodyguard. And you'll be living with her."
"WHAT?!!" I screamed, my voice echoing through the hospital and making the walls shake. He can't be serious, right?
"You'll be living with Ai. You got that?" President Saitou reiterated, his tone firm.
"Why me?! What about Ai?" I asked, confusion swirling in my mind. The thought of living with Ai made me hesitate. Sure, I valued my privacy, but could he really force her to let me stay at her house?
I glanced at Ai, hoping she would protest, but she looked away nervously.
"Erm... Actually, I'm the one who suggested it..." Ai admitted with a sheepish tone, making me feel flustered.
"You heard her. This is for her protection. You're Hero, right? Isn't it your job to protect those who can't protect themselves?" President Saitou said with a smug expression. Even Miyako nodded in agreement.
My own motto was being used against me—always protect those who can't protect themselves.
"Seriously? Any objections from you two?" I asked Aqua and Ruby, looking for support. They both shook their heads. Aqua explained, "There are more than a few deranged fans who want to hurt Mama, so we can't take that chance—especially given her condition."
That was a solid reason. I sighed in resignation. "Another thing is... that scar on her belly could spell trouble for her job," President added, pointing at Ai's abdomen with concern. Everyone seemed to have solutions for this problem, but I already had an idea brewing in my mind. "I've got a solution," I announced, drawing everyone's attention. "In my world, there's a magical bean that can heal any injuries. When eaten, it restores a person's physical condition to its natural peak almost instantly." "Seriously? Such things exist?" Miyako asked, surprised. I nodded confidently. "So that means her wound will heal before it can become a scar. Also, I'll need to bring Ai-san with me since I'm her bodyguard now. Are you okay with that, Ai-san?"
Ai thought for a moment before replying, "Hm hm! Can Aqua and Ruby come along too?"
"Sure, why not?" I replied with a smile. Ruby cheered happily at the prospect of a trip to another universe. Aqua seemed more contemplative but joined in the cheer, albeit less enthusiastically than Ruby.
(If Kai's not around, it's up to me to protect Ruby and Ai. I won't let this incident happen again. I'll find out who's responsible for Ai's injury... and make them pay!) ______________________________________

-Ai's House-
Kai gulped nervously. Living with his favorite idol had never crossed his mind since returning to this world. From being a Time Patrol member to an actor and now a bodyguard, he wondered how he would manage everything. If the paparazzi found out about this, he would be damned.
In an empty room, he had just finished cleaning and was now unpacking his things. He pulled a capsule from his pocket and tossed it on the floor. The capsule exploded in a puff of pink smoke, revealing a closet. He unzipped his bag and placed a capsule box on the table.
Capsules really make my life easier, Kai thought to himself just as someone knocked on the door.
"Kai-kun? Can I come in?" Ai asked as she opened the door. Kai had picked her up from the hospital earlier that morning. Aqua and Ruby were busy packing their clothes after Miyako sent them back here. Kai planned to head to the Time Nest after lunch, and it was already 11:30 a.m.
"Yeah," he replied as Ai wheeled herself into the room. She glanced at the closet behind him, surprised to see it there.
"I thought this room didn't have a closet before?" Ai asked, her brow furrowing. She had wanted Kai to stay in Aqua and Ruby's room since this one was dusty, but he had insisted on choosing this room instead.
"Oh, didn't Aqua or Ruby tell you? Here, let me show you." Kai adjusted his glasses and handed her the capsule he was holding. Ai looked confused.
"What is this?" she asked.
"Just click it and throw it on the floor," Kai instructed. She complied, tossing the capsule down. It exploded in another burst of pink smoke, causing Ai to yelp while Kai laughed.
"That’s a capsule! It's technology from my world. Cool, right? It’s used to store large objects inside," he explained as the smoke cleared, revealing magazines scattered on the floor featuring Ai and B-Komachi.
Kai's eyes widened in horror as Ai picked one up and giggled. The magazines showcased B-Komachi's rise as idols along with posters of Ai—exactly what he wanted to avoid.
"Um... I didn’t mean for those to be here," Kai stammered, feeling flustered as Ai continued to browse through them with delight.

"Looks like someone is a fan of me, hehehe..." Ai chuckled as she continued flipping through the magazines. Aqua and Ruby soon entered the room, drawn by her laughter, while Kai felt his face heat up in embarrassment.
"Mama? Why were you laughing like that?" Ruby asked, peeking around Aqua.
"Look at this, you two!" Ai exclaimed, showing them her pictures. Aqua stared at the photographs with a thoughtful expression, while Ruby began to giggle uncontrollably. So Gaia likes Ai Hoshino, huh?
Kai, wanting to escape the awkwardness, dashed to the kitchen. "Lunch will be ready in a few minutes!" he called out, eager to distance himself from the conversation. His secret was out, and he felt exposed.
As Kai busied himself in the kitchen, Ai and Ruby continued to laugh at the magazines. However, Aqua noticed something beneath the pile of magazines. He picked it up and saw a picture of Kai with a group of individuals armed for battle. Kai stood next to a red-hooded girl, his right hand wrapped around her neck in a peace sign.
"Hmm? What's that, Onii-chan?" Aqua asked, holding up the image for everyone to see.
"Ehhh?! Kai has a girlfriend?" Ruby exclaimed loudly. Aqua and Ai quickly shushed her as she covered her mouth with her hands.
Ai took the photo from Aqua, her gaze narrowing as she focused on the girl next to Kai. Aqua couldn't help but notice that Ai seemed a little... agitated? Was she jealous?
Their moment of intrigue was interrupted when Kai called from the kitchen, "Lunch is ready!" "Wow, that was quick!" they all responded in unison. Ai quickly put the picture back into the magazine.
"Let's go, you two," Ai said as they made their way to the kitchen together, leaving behind the mystery of the photo—at least for now. ______________________________________
