Chapter 29

When we arrive at Olive Garden, Austin takes my hand and guides me to the table that the guys are already sitting at.

"Hey guys." I greet them and Austin gives them all a handshake.

"You look nice today Kay." AC complimented him while Rob and Zach agreed.

"Awwww thank you guys." I said blushing. I'm not flirting, whenever I get complimented, I blush.

Austin just looked at me, then gave them all death glares.

"Bro it's just a compliment. We're being nice to your girl man. Do you want us to be dicks?" Rob asked and we all laughed, along with Austin.

Thank god he's not angry at my blushing. I don't mean to, it just happens.

When our food arrives, we all dig in.

"So Kay? Why did you really move to Texas?" Zach asks.

Austin was about to answer, probably a lie that way I don't have to explain, but I cut him off. I don't want him lying to his friends.

"Usually, I wouldn't tell you the real reason, but there's really no point in lying anymore. My ex, Derek, he was very abusive. Like, if I told you what he did, you probably wouldn't believe me, but that type of stuff shouldn't be said over lunch. So I'll save that part for another time. Anyway, I basically made an escape at night while he was asleep. I was planning it for a while so I had bought a house and a car in advance. I hoped on a plane to Texas. I honestly don't know why I picked Texas. I just thought it wouldn't be an obvious place for him to look if he was going to search for me." I explain.

"Did he?" Zach asked.

"Did he what?" I asked, confused.

"Did he search for you?"

I was hesitant to answer. "Umm, yeah he did."

"And..?"

"Guys, that's enough questions." Austin spoke up.

"No it's okay. Yes, he searched for me. He somehow got my new numbers, he or a friend vandalized my house, he called me saying he was in my house, an while me and Austin were on the couch..chillin.. I got another call from one of his friends, Mike an he asked a question about me and Austin. I swear he was right outside my window. I think he found me, but I promise you, he's not getting me back." I assured myself.
"Well on a better note, did Austin tell you we're moving in together?" I smiled and looked at Austin smiling back at me.
"We all need to chill at your guy's house!" AC exclaimed.
"Yeah, we can all play some ball." Zach commented. "Me rob and AC again you guys." He gestured between me and Austin.
"I'll kick all your asses." I laughed and everyone joined.
"I'd like to see you try." Rob laughed.
"Bring it." I said.
"That's it yo. We're all coming over right now!" Rob said.
We paid the bill and headed back to our house.
No one knows this but I used to be on the basketball team in middle school and high school. I'm girly, but once I set foot on the court, it's all over.
I'll let them know what sport I played after I kick Rob, Zach and AC's asses.
