The song I added is the one Lisa sang in this chapter, I'm not exactly a song writer so I just chose something that felt close to how Lisa feels.------
Jennie was walking home by herself, through the busy streets of New York, trying not to start crying right and there in front of all these people. Her steps were fast, she tried to get home as soon as she could.
Her encounter with Lisa had crushed all the excitement about her 'new life' and it wasn't because it was Lisa, it wasn't like she felt resentment towards her, but Lisa clearly did for Jennie.
The way she acted, so cold and distant, she understood it at first, because they were in the same room as Lisa's boss and the other three people Jennie didn't know, but when she continued to act that way even when they were left alone, that simply crushed Jennie.
Jennie was aware that it was all her fault, in the end - she was the one who probably broke Lisa's heart, it was years ago but Jennie has no doubts Lisa never forgave her.Jennie's hopes about getting a job where she'll be happy and will get paid a fair amount of money slipped away in the manner of minutes spent with Lisa.
But then on the other hand, she wasn't prepared to give up. It might've been selfish of her, but she can't just run away like a coward, she just flew fourteen hours from Seoul and she already settled in her new house.
Jennie opened the door of her home in a rush, knowing that Jungkook was out to pick an outfit for Lisa's concert, she threw her things on the floor immediately and from the way she's been running a few miles she slumped down on the couch, exhaling deeply while closing her eyes.
'That was not how I thought this was gonna go'
More concerning was though - the things her boss told her about Lisa, before she came in the room. He hadn't mentioned her name then so he just talked about her as a 'client, patient'. And he said some disturbing things about Lisa's habits. When she learned that the patient was Lisa, her heart ached for her more than it would with any other client. She was a heavy alcoholic, and a drug addict as well. Which was more than shocking to Jennie. Obviously she knew Lisa was always a drinker - but a light drinker, she only drank on friday's nights.
And the drugs completely took her out, how did that happen? What was going through Lisa's mind when she decided to ruin her life like this? Before the meeting Jennie always lived in a conclusion that Lisa was happy. She was famous, she had fans that supported her, she was admired by many. During her interviews she always kept a smile on, but then that's how every celebrity who struggles presents themselves after all. No amount of money and fame can heal a hollow person.
Thinking about it was already too much for Jennie, she can't accept the fact that that's what Lisa's life became. Was it Jennie's fault? She started thinking, like always, overthinking everything. Jennie knew the possibility of Lisa hitting rock bottom because of her wasn't gonna be far from the truth, and that left her feeling guilty, ashamed.
For the past four years she had a comforting thought in the back of her mind 'Leaving Lisa was a good decision, she's happy now" and that thought kept her going, only now it turned out to be a complete lie. She was lying to herself this whole time.
Jennie needed to make this right, she needed to help Lisa get out of this mess, although she was uncertain if Lisa even wanted her help.
"Hey babe"
The front door opened and Jungkook stepped in with a wide smile, interrupting Jennie's silent thinking.
'He's excited as a puppy to see Lisa'
