"Are you sure there is no other way?" A man who seemed to be in his early 30s asked the man standing in front of him.
"Positive, we already tried everything else. If you want your daughter to live long, we will have to do this. But I won't pressure you, I know you have your family to worry about if we get banished," the man wearing a long white coat replied, his tired eyes scanning the area around them as he kept his voice low.
"... I will talk with my wife first. In the meantime, could you ask your *friend* about the location and situation outside?" he mumbled before he turned around and left the room.
The doctor sighed as he fixed his glasses, he didn't like this situation, but there was no other way. And he owed his friend at least this much, he wasn't about to let his friend's daughter die when there is a way.

"Can you see it?" a little boy stood near the kitchen counter, holding his younger sister up so that half of her body was above the counter.
"Yesss it's on top of the peanuts. Carlos, Up!" the little girl giggle as her brother tried to lift her up more. Her little hand reaching out for the cookies jar, when she was sure it wouldn't drop and break, she smiled at her brother goofily.
"Hah! Got it!" she giggled before her brother slowly put her down.
"Quick! Before dad comes back," Carlos looked back at the door before he took the jar from his sister and opened it. He grabbed a handful of cookies and stuffed them in their pockets before he gave the jar back to ____.
"We need to put it back now. Come on," he wrapped his arms around his sister's legs and lifted her once more. She tried to put the jar back, but it was much more difficult than to take it. It won't sit on top of the peanuts jar.
"I... I can't reach! It's going to fall ahhh," Her hands started shaking as her eyes got teary.
"No no no don't cry. It's okay. I got it," Carlos placed his sister down and took the jar from her little hands. He placed the jar on top of the counter before he climbed on top of it. Once he placed it back, he looked down at his sister with a triumphant smile. His sister looked back at him with sparkly eyes and a smile so wide her cheeks were getting red.
"What are you two doing?" the two children looked at the door, where their father stood, hands crossed over his chest as he smirked at his kids.
"I... Nothing! I was looking for a cup because ____ is thirsty, right ____?" Carlos laughed nervously before he looked at his little sister, who was looking at him confused, one finger near her lips as she tried to think of what to say.
"oh? Is that right ____?" her father walked to where she was and kneeled in front of her, looking her straight in the eye. He knew she would look away if she was lying.
"mmhm," She looked away.
"But the cup is right here sweetheart," he took the cup that was purposely placed on the water fridge and examined it in front of her and Carlos who finally got down and was sweating bullets.
"Oooh... Haha... Ah... RUN ____!" Carlos laughed nervously before he screeched, grabbed his sister's hand, and ran as fast as he could to their bedroom.
"UNDER THE BED! HE CAN'T REACH!!" he yelled while laughing, his sister laughing with him as the two of them slid under the bed. They put their hands on top of their mouths as they tried to stop giggling once their father entered the room.
"Oh no! Where did they go!?" He said loudly as he started to pace around the room, acting as if he was searching for them, even when their giggles were coming loudly from under the bed.
"I guess they are not here... Well, I'll just take a nap on this bed then," he sat on the bed, smiling to himself as his kids groaned.
"Let's just eat it here," Carlos whispered to his sister before he took a cookie out of his pocket. ____ nodded and mimicked her brother, taking a cookie out of her pocket as well.
The crunching sound and their whispers to keep it low were very loud, and their father was dying inside from laughing too hard.
"I REMEMBER! MY SOCK IS UNDER THIS BED! I guess it's time for cleaning!" he exclaimed and then waited for a moment. His kids had stopped talking and possibly eating as it all went very silent quickly.
"Quick ____! Before he sees us!" he heard Carlos half whisper half yell at his sister as the crunching sound came back, now louder than before as his little daughter tried to gulp the cookies down quickly, but she ended up choking on them and coughing loudly.
"____! YOU ARE GOING TO BLOW US AWAY!" Carlos finally yelled as his sister was half dying from choking and half dying from laughing. Their father grabbed the bed's metal and lifted it up.
"You rascals. Come here!" He threatened playfully as Carlos took his sister's hand and tried to run away again, but their mother was standing at the doorway and blocked them from running away.
"What did I say about eating cookies without asking hmm?" she glared playfully at them before she looked lovingly at her laughing husband. He ran up to his kids and lifted them both up.
"Nowhere to run now! How dare you eat cookies and not give me some huh??" he started running around the room with his children in his arms, giggling like crazy.
"Okay... Phew! That's enough now... Time to go brush your teeth and get ready for bed," he huffed as he placed his kids down, sweat beads running down his red face as he smiled tiredly at them. They groaned and huffed and complained, but they ended up doing it anyway because they were tired as well.

"So... How was your day honey?" he looked at his wife as she stood in front of the mirror, combing her hair with her hands before putting it in a protective braid.
"As far as good can be for people like us. What about you? How did your meeting with the doctor go?" She responded as she got up from in front of the mirror and walked to their shared bed, sitting on her husband's side as he looked at her with a little smile that quickly faded once she asked him about the meeting.
"About that..."
