"... Put it back?" Louis said, but it came out as a question instead as he looked at the container in Ryan's hand. He was, after all, still unsure of what to do with it and all the other organs.

"Yeah, but how? Also, do you have like... Anything in place of it?" Ryan looked at Louis and stood up, holding out the container.

"I don't know, and no. You saw that fridge," Ryan recalled the fridge with organs inside. L must have been Louis, so that means...

"Damn. Okay, I can ask Tom to do it for you if he doesn't freak out when he sees you," Ryan suggested, even though he was more than sure Tom was going to lose his shit once he sees Louis.

Louis thought about it for a moment, he could take them on their offer, but they could also be messing with him. They might nail his limbs to prevent him from moving, or take out his eyes to prevent him from seeing so that they could run away.

He was a monster to them after all.

But they were his only chance since he couldn't really do it himself. He hated it, that he will have to rely on people who can easily stab him in the back. Is this even necessary? He's living just fine unfortunately.

"You don't know the future buddy. What if you find a reason to live in the future? You can't live without them then," he could hear L speaking in his mind.

"Why do you care? Aren't you stuck here because I wanted to die? You should be glad I would die in the future,"

"I'm growing fond of you. If that happens in the future, I will fight you fair and square," Louis rolled his eyes at L before he looked at Ryan.

"I'll trust you this time, but here is the thing. I can't die, so don't try anything funny because I will end all of you," He said coldly before he took the container from Ryan's hand and placed it with the others. Ryan shuddered as he remembered the distorted faces of the traffickers in that building. He knew better than to mess with Louis.

"... So let me get this straight. The heart belonged to a boy, who's standing outside this room as we speak? Really Ryan? Don't you think we are too old for this kind of pranks?" Tom frowned as he narrowed his eyes at his friend, who smiled nervously.

"I wish this was a prank. Come see for yourself," he gestured at the door and went ahead of Tom to make sure he doesn't try to attack Louis.

Louis was leaning against the door as he overheard everything they said. He stood straight once he heard their footsteps growing closer, wanting to seem as intimidating as he could.

Ryan stepped out of the door, with Tom behind him looking at the floor with boredom. His eyes became the size of saucers once he laid them on Louis, who stood there glaring at them.

"You are joking?" he looked in awe? Shock? But in a good way? At Louis, who was puzzled by his facial expressions

"This looks like a joke?" Ryan pointed out, completely unfazed by his friend's reaction. He expected worse than that.

"WHAT THE FUCK! GET IAN! WHERE IS THE GU-" yup... Here it is. Tom started panicking and tried to go back to the room to his bag and gun, but Ryan quickly stopped him.

"No... We won't do that, just hear him out yeah?" Tom looked at Ryan petrified by his reaction. His mouth was agape as he tried to form coherent words, to say something. But his brain was in too much fear and excitement to work properly.

"long story short, I need you to put back my organs inside me. I won't attack as long as you don't try anything funny," Louis scanned their faces as he spoke, trying to find something that will make him trust them. But who was he kidding, the distrust was mutual.

"...Hah?" Tom looked between Louis and Ryan, trying to process what he had just said.

"What he said. Can you do it?" Ryan questioned as he looked at Tom, who was still in denial.

"I-... I can, but what? Hold on," Tom brought both of his hands up as he crouched down and tried to process everything. After a few awkward moments of silence he stood up again and took a deep breath in before looking at Louis seriously.

"How are you alive?" he asked.

"Virus is keeping me going I guess. Can you leave the questions till after you help me? I think my organs are going to rot soon," Louis answered shortly, he wanted to get this over with quickly and be on his way.

"Well... Okay. I need to prep the equipment and medication," Tom finally gave in, and while he was still scared, his eagerness to find how Louis was still capable of keeping his human thoughts and control over himself overshadowed his fear, and he found himself looking forward to it.

"I don't need a sedation. I'll stay awake, just do it," Louis quickly followed after him. Falling asleep meant that they could whatever they wanted to him and he wouldn't even know. He couldn't risk it.

"Bu-"

"I don't feel pain. Just do it," he quickly cut him off, impatient and annoyed that this took a lot longer than he expected. They had to wait for him to sober up after all, and it took all night.

"Fine, come here," Tom gestured to the room ____ was in, and Ryan followed after them.

"Ryan, can you move ____ to the other room? She will be fine for now," Tom looked at Ryan as he went for his daughter, removing the tubes attached to her before he started to patch her up.

"She won't wake for the next 6 hours or so. It will be fine," he stated as he finally finished patching her up.

Ryan carried his daughter as careful as he could and left the room, leaving Louis and Tom alone.

"Alright, I'm going to need you to remove that shirt kid," Louis complied silently. He lifted his shirt, revealing his pale bluish torso and the scars from before he turned, as well as the burned tattoo of the traffickers between his shoulder blades.
