Meeting The Turtles

As I walk quickly along the sidewalk back to my apartment, my mind can't help but race with ideas. The samurai man was not very specific about these so-called "turtles", but if they were in fact coming to check in on me, something told me it wasn't their best move.

I make a turn on the corner of the street and find myself face-to-face with the building. Something seemed off though, as if I were being followed. I decided to trust my instincts. Doing a three-sixty, my feet start to walk down a different route.

If they want to follow me, I should at least lead them to somewhere else.

Finally, I reach my destination. It is a small, clean hotel with a few rooms available. After grabbing a key from the front desk and paying for two nights, I check into my unit and close the door. Making sure the lock is in place, I sigh and plop down on the bed.

Opening my phone, I see that there is a tiny, red tracker on the case.

I guess that's how they are tracking me.

Thud

"What the-" My head whips up, looking over at the window.

There they are. Four giant, turtle-like shadows are perched right outside the glass. The long curtains are concealing the creatures from my view, but it is obvious they are waiting on the balcony. Sucking in a breath, I quietly walk over to the glass door.

I yank the curtains back abruptly, swiftly exclaiming a question. "Alright, what do you want?"

Oh my.

Four green, muscular, humanoid turtles are standing there, each with a different expression. The orange one is about to fall over the edge, a look of shock across his eyes. A confident blue one stands tall with an unamused smirk, a sword balancing across his shoulders. The one wearing a purple bandanna is in the back, not really paying attention to the others, typing on a hologram display. And finally, the largest one of all, is smiling beneath his red mask.

However, the moment the fabric is pulled away, all of their eyes shoot over to me.

There is a few seconds of silence, everyone freezing.

Well, this just got awkward.
