Blake stared down the five figures hiding behind the counter, they wore blue jumpsuits marking them as prisoners. She couldn't really make out their faces with the dark shadows falling over them but she kept her crossbow pointed at them.
"Who the hell are you?" Her dad asked as he moved closer, his crossbow raised at the group too.
"Who the hell are you?" One of the prisoners retorted. Blake scowled, not in the mood for games with Hershel still bleeding out right behind them. Blake could hear Rick talking to Maggie and Glenn, taking care of Hershel behind her, but her attention was solely on the men exiting the kitchen.
"Come on out of there. Slow and steady." Her dad ordered. They did as asked, eyeing the group as they did so. The one leading the way had long greasy hair pulled back into a ponytail and his jumpsuit hung from his hips with his white tank top exposed. He gave Blake weird vibes, she wasn't sure what it was about him exactly but she definitely didn't trust him.
"What happened to him?" The second guy asked as he looked past Blake and towards Hershel. He was a small black guy, smallest of the group and Blake knew she could take him with ease. She still didn't think she could trust him, she wasn't sure she would be able to trust any of them.
"He got bit," her dad answered gruffly.
"Bit?" The first guy asked as the rest of the group exited, falling in line behind him. Blake eyed the other guys, there was a really tall big black guy who was definitely a little intimidating. Beside him was a shorter mousy white guy, he looked like someone Merle would hangout with just to make fun of in the trailer park. And finally a tall thin black guy, who looked to be thinking real hard as he looked them over.
Suddenly the first guy pulled out a gun from the waistband of his jumpsuit. Blake tensed putting him in between the cross hairs of her bow as T-dog pulled his own gun out and pointed it at him.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy now. Nobody needs to get hurt." T-dog said as tank top pointed his gun at them. He whipped it around pointing it at all three of them. Glenn brushed past Blake and she raised her crossbow as he passed by in front of them entering the kitchen that the prisoners had exited from.
"You got medical supplies?" Glenn asked as he looked around.
"Wow, where do you think you're going?" The big guy asked as Glenn passed but he was ignored. The walkers continued to pound at the door snarling as they tried to get in.
"Who the hell are you people anyway?" The leader dude asked, gun still raised.
"Don't look like no rescue team!" The white dude asked nervously.
"If a rescue team's what you're waiting for, don't!" Rick yelled out the strain obvious in his voice. There was a clatter from the kitchen where Glenn was and then he was coming out of the room pushing a cart. "Come on, we gotta go! Now! Come on, I need a hand here!" Rick ordered.
Blake kept her crossbow pointed at the group but backed up with T-dog towards the door to help clear a path for Hershel. T opened the door revealing just one walker still lingering which he dispatched carefully. Blake led the way out of the room with her crossbow raised as Rick called for her dad to follow.
Blake maneuvered through the halls following the arrows as quickly as she could. They got lucky only running into one random walker on the way back that Blake quickly took care of before pulling her arrow out of its head as she jogged past.
"This way," Blake called out as she turned a corner and waved for the group to follow. She could hear the prisoners following behind them but they were the least of their worries at the moment. So they kept moving. Blake got to the door first and she turned just as her dad tossed her the keys. She unlocked the door as quickly as she could and shoved it open, moving out of the way for them to push Hershel in.
