Blake lay awake in bed Beth's words ringing in her head as she stared at the bottom of the top bunk above her. The blonde was fast asleep on Blake's chest snuggled in as close as she physically could get. Blake wasn't sure why she was up thinking about the girl's impromptu proposal, sure Blake had turned her down but Beth seemed happy with the answer she got.

But Blake wasn't happy with the answer she gave, she had thought about marrying Beth time and time again, proposing with whatever ring she could find. But as soon as Beth had said it out loud she had chickened out. It's not like marriage really meant anything anymore, there was no legal paperwork to do or anything. She could just ask and then they'd be married.

What Blake had said about being young and wanting Hershel's approval was all true but Blake wasn't sure that was the real reason she had said no. Sure it would suck if Hershel disapproved but Blake was almost one hundred percent positive that he would have given them his blessing if she had asked.

Maybe that was the scary part, Blake could put a ring on Beth's finger and call her her wife with such ease now that what did it truly mean. It was just that, a ring, nothing that binds them except their word and love for one another. Nothing preventing Beth from deciding she was done with Blake either, not cut out to be the wife of a Dixon, Blake's wife. It could change everything, and in turn Blake could lose everything.

At some point Blake must have fallen asleep because the next thing she knew she was being jolted awake by the ringing of a gunshot from somewhere nearby accompanied by a bunch of screams. She bolted upright, registering the fact that Beth was nowhere in sight which made her heart rate increase. She sprung out of bed and pulled on a pair of pants cursing herself for not being ready. She then pulled on the closest shirt she could find and slipped her feet into her boots not bothering to tie them.

As she left the cell she scooped up her crossbow and slid her machete into its spot on her hip. As she exited the cell she was met with slightly controlled chaos. Sasha was moving quickly to make sure C block was secure and Blake spotted Beth cradling a crying Judith.

"Walkers in D!" Sasha called out to her and Blake nodded.

"In the cell," Blake ordered, grabbing the blonde by her upper arm and tugging her towards their cell. Beth was looking at her with wide eyes but Blake ignored her keeping her eyes peeled for any danger that tried to mess with Beth or Judy. "Stay in here, keep it locked until someone comes to get you." Beth just nodded rocking the baby in her arms and with one last shared look Blake was off towards D block.

Blake entered the cell block and it was chaos, people were running and screaming, kids were crying and walkers were munching down on people all over the place. Blake was running on autopilot as she went, clearing people out of the cell block while trying to kill as many walkers as possible.

It wasn't long before her dad and Rick were joining her closely followed by Sasha and Glenn. It didn't take long after that for the cell block to be cleared but chaos was still everywhere. People were panicked as loved ones hugged each other tight and others cried. Blake locked eyes with her dad and they shared a nod before they were both climbing the stairs to clear the upper level.

Blake was a few steps behind her dad with Rick on her tail, she had just parted ways looking to follow Glenn who was already clearing the upper half when a walker lunged from inside one of the cells knocking Glenn back into the wall. Blake moved on autopilot, raising her crossbow and shooting a bolt into the walker's head as Glenn fought against it. It dropped like a sack of potatoes leaving Glenn panting as he sat on the ground. Blake wasted no time moving forward to help the man to his feet, still on alert as Rick and her dad brushed past to make sure the rest of the cells were clear.
