Sarah stared at her outfit for the longest time. "Sarah! You look great. I promise," Alahna spoke through the phone as Sarah sighed.

"I don't know," Sarah wore a dark blue bikini with a white coverup covering only her bottom. "You look hot," Alahna said as she looked at her friend again.

"I just wanna show him how good I look after all this time-"
"Who? Luke?" Alahna answered as Sarah widened her eyes. "Yes!" She quickly answered.

In all honesty, Sarah wasn't nervous to see her ex, she was anxious to see her ex-best friend. They hadn't seen each other since that day and she wanted to prove to him that she was better off without him.

"I get it and you will show him but hurry up!" Alahna said as Sarah smiled at her friend. "I'll pick you up in 10 minutes," Sarah said as Alahna rolled her eyes.

"See you here in 20," Alahna said before hanging up. Sarah chuckled as she started getting her things together. Sarah put on an oversized shirt, grabbed her tote bag, and headed downstairs.

"I'm off to the bonfire Mom!" Sarah said as she quickly tried to move past all her little siblings. "Where are you going?" One of her little siblings asked as she rolled her eyes at him.

"None of your business," She said as she slightly pushed his head back causing the boy to gasp.
"Are you staying over at Alahna's tonight?"

"Yep!"

"I want you here early tomorrow!" Mrs. Jones warned as she smiled at her daughter. "Okay, Mom. See you later," Sarah kissed her mom on the cheek, as she quickly left the house before one of her little siblings could ask if they could go with her.

Sarah called Alahna as she started her car. "I'm leaving my casa," Sarah told Alahna as soon as she picked up the phone.

"M'kay! Call me when you're at my house,"

It was 4:07 and the bonfire seemed to have been just starting. Sarah and Alahna look at each other before smiling and stepping out of the car.

"Lana! Sarah!" Nate said as he realized it was them walking onto the beach. "Nate!" Sarah said as she ran to the guy, it had been a hot minute since she had seen him. "How has it been?" Sarah said as she looked around for Aubree.

"Great and Aubree is over there," Nate said smiling as he pointed to his long-term girlfriend, who was on her phone a few steps away.

"Aubrekins!" Sarah said as turned around and saw her cousin. "Sarah Marie!" Aubree said as she turned around and hugged her.

"Oh, it's been too long," Sarah said as her cousin nodded. "I'm glad you could come this year," Aubree smiled remembering last year's volleyball competition.

"Are you ready to win this year?" Alahna said to Aubree as she got closer to the girls. "Yes!"

"Did you guys lose that bad last year?" Sarah asked as she brushed her hair off her face.
"We sucked without you," Alahna laughed looking at Aubree.

"Oh- Remember when Chris face-planted into the sand?" Alahna said as Nate made his way toward the girls. "That was hilarious," Nate said as he laced his hand around Aubree's waist.

"Oh what I would have given to see that," Sarah laughed as everyone looked at each other, awkwardly.

"So is that whole thing resolved?" Nate asked as Sarah awkwardly shifted in her spot. "I haven't seen him since he told me to stay away," She tried to laugh it off as everyone laughed, very awkwardly.
