The True Core And His Fated Mate: Bowuigi (Super Mario Bros. Soulmate AU)

The Magical Awakening

After Luigi gets captured by the Shy Guys, he starts to feel as if something's following him. Something rather small, yet very powerful, he felt was following him. But no matter how much he looked around, he could never seem to find what was giving him that feeling. Yet he was indeed being followed, by three little wisps that didn't seem to notice that he felt something was following him. The trio was a troublesome bunch, always seeming to find themselves involved in some random issue that would've never concerned them had they not been seemingly looking for trouble. So, they were sent to find the True Core that would arrive in the Dark Lands sometime this year.

They didn't expect to find him so quickly, or a possible "him" however. They knew everything they needed to know about the True Core, so finding out if the guy they were following was indeed the prophesied True Core wouldn't be an issue. Even less since he was headed towards the castle of the King of the Dark Lands: Bowser. Some wisps have mentioned that King Bowser was indeed a magical dark core, as part of the prophecy had said. And considering the Koopa King literally breathes fire, it made sense he'd be the fated mate of the True Core. But, King Bowser is obsessed with the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom: Princess Peach. And he isn't aware of the prophecy, no one in the kingdom is. Which was something the wisps found odd but pushed it aside.

Luigi was dragged to King Bowser's throne room by the Shy Guys, the wisps following behind them from above. (Come on, you all know the original scene. Its basically the same dialogue and movements between them, until Bowser starts to pull tight on Luigi's moustache.) "DO YOU KNOW HIM?!?" Bowser yells at Luigi. "Do you really think I'd know every guy with a moustache with an identical outfit and a hat with the letter of his first name on it who is always getting into messes he shouldn't be getting into and is a literal life-of-the-party that's always making friends with as much ease as he makes enemies?!" Luigi said, shocked at what he had spilled about his brother, and just as quickly added: "Because I don't." Bowser knew to feel angry at this moustachioed human, both moustachioed humans, but he didn't feel that angry. In fact, he started to feel bad for the one in his grip. He didn't understand why, but he felt bad.

Just then, the three little wisps appeared in front of everyone in the form of little ghostly lights: one was green, one was red, and one was blue. They circled around Luigi, and found he had dormant magic within him. They couldn't believe it: they found the True Core! Knowing what they had to do, the wisps got together in the shape of a magical ball, and shot themselves towards Luigi. Luigi was thrown off-balance by the sudden burst of magic that came to him with the impact, and he fell to the black stone floor. He seemed to have passed out for a few seconds, worrying the King Koopa. He still didn't understand why he was feeling this way for someone he just met, even more the fact that it was for a guy who knew the human with his Peaches and tried to act like he didn't know him. He felt like something was just drawing him to this... Luigi. Bowser's deep thoughts were interrupted by a groan from Luigi, who had a hand on his forehead as he tried to get up from the floor.

*Luigi's POV*

What were those ghostly lights and why did they go to me? I feel... different? It's funny because they just seemed to ram... into me... What the hell were those things?!? My head hurts, I feel like I'm on fire. And for some reason I thought of cooling my body down and now my body feels like I'm fresh out of a shower. Wait... did they... give me magic? I opened my right  hand, palm facing up, and thought of summoning some magic on my hand. A ball of fire formed on top of my palm. A BALL of FIRE! I did the same with my left hand, crossing my legs to provide me some support, and a snowflake surrounded by an icy breeze formed. A SNOWFLAKE! And ICE! If red was fire, and blue was ice, then what's green? Healing? Nature? Wind? Or maybe all of those? "Could um, someone find me a plant seed or something living that needs healing?" I asked, not expecting anyone to actually do it.

Then Bowser pulls out a seed from who knows where and throws it to me. "Sounded like you wanted to make a plant grow from the palm of your hand. Good luck with that, the seed I gave you doesn't grow around here." Bowser laughed. Now that for some reason made me determined to make it grow, so I cupped my hands to hold the seed in between them and thought of making it grow in my hand. I saw a green smoke-like thing swirl from my arms to the seed, and the seed began to germinate. I focused on making it grow faster, and soon enough I had a blue flower fully grown in my hands. Bowser's eyes were wide open, same with his mouth. I looked around to see the wizard-looking guy share a similar expression. "You, you just grew an ice flower, in the palms of your hands!" The wizard guy stuttered, pointing at me, then the flower, then my hands.

So the green one was Nature, after all. I decided to try to make it go back into the seed form, and I managed to do it with barely any effort. I stood up, walked to Bowser, and extended my hand out to return him the seed he gave me. He just stared at me blankly, it seems I left him speechless. Then he shook his head and smirked at me. "Y'know, you might be more valuable than you seemed at first. How about you share some of that value with my kingdom?" He told me.

"Sure."
