Amai blinked as she stared blankly. "What?" She asked finally, confused. "She didn't want us to tell you," Kuu Dere started, leading the girl to the balcony and pointing at Ayano. "But she's going full blown maniac mode on that one bully...Hoshiko..." They mumbled, frowning as they saw Amai's eyes widened. Amai saw the blood on Ayano's uniform as she continued to fight with the girl knife in hand. "Why didn't any of you stop her!?" She cried, making the others tense up.
"Ayano has...always been like this...unfortunately." Taro muttered, holding his little sister Hanako close to him. "She warned us not to do anything. That it'll be wise for us not to get involved." Hazu further explained, moving his bangs out of his eyes to look at the girl. Amai, who was in complete shock, looked at everyone. There were at least 10 people on the roof with her. Some she recognized, some she didn't. She knew that they had something in common though, they all cared about Ayano.
"Why haven't the teachers gotten involved?" She asked, crossing her arms. "Well..." Mai started, before the speaker turned on and the headmaster spoke. "The school is in lockdown. I repeat, the school is in lockdown." And then it cut off. Kokona wrapped her arm around the baker before pulling her away from the balcony. "Ayano has done a lot for us. From saving my dad from debt to preventing Horuda to suicide...she loves to defend the people she loves..." There was a brief pause before Hanako spoke up. "And now that person she's defending is you..."
Amai's eyes widened as tears fell from her face. Before she knew it, she was crying into her hands while the others watched, feeling bad. For a good minute, everyone stayed silent as Amai cried. She cried because Ayano truly cared for her. She cried because for the first time in forever, someone was willing to die for her. She couldn't contain her tears as she choked and sobbed.
Soon, Osana got a notification on her phone. "Raibaru said the school is calling the police." She whispered, making Amai shake her head. "No...no no we gotta stop them!" She yelled. Horuda shook her head. "Sorry to break it to you, but once the school calls the cops, it's game over. They only do that when it's a serious threat..." Saki nodded before she looked at the girl sympathetically. "All we can do now is wait and pray that Ayano will be alright."
Amai looked at everyone before wiping her tears and sighing before tying her hair up. "Then I'm going down there to save her." She announced, making everyone's eyes widen. "Amai. You have no idea what Hoshiko is capable of. She's one of the most ruthless people in this school." Mai explained, trying to reason with the girl. "It's unsafe to go alone."
"Then I'll go with her." Kokoro spoke, walking next to Amai. "I've let them control me for so long that I forgot who I truly was. I joined them in order to protect myself, but I lost sight of what's really important." She continued, before looking at Horuda and walking towards her. "I've let them hurt you. I hurt you. I figured hurting others was worth the risk of me not being harmed again. I was wrong." She then took both of her hands and smiled at her. "I just wanted to say...I...care about you Horuda. And if I get hurt then so be it. I just needed you to know that."
She then pulled away, turning her back as Horuda looked at her, blushing. "Come on Amai. We got a girl to save." She spoke, making Amai smile and take her hand. "You're right. Let's save my girlfriend." She replied confidently, before the two walked off to go save Ayano.
---------------
Ayano collapsed to the floor, her arms and legs covered in cuts and bruises while Hoshiko stood over her, smirking. "Kashiko was right. You really are soft." She chuckled, face covered in blood, a mixture of her's and Ayano's. Her nose was broken and she had a big cut on her cheek. "At least you were a worthy fighter. Most people would've given up by now. You're the exception I suppose."
Ayano groaned before trying to get up, only to get her chest stepped on by the green clad. "You're not escaping that easily." She spat. "Shouldn't start a fight you couldn't finish. That's an obvious fact. You were bold though. Very bold to mess up my perfect face." She brought her knife up to Ayano's face, dragging it softly across. "You have pretty skin though. Maybe I should ruin it!" She exclaimed, moving her knife back to deliver a nice stab to her face. Before she began though, she heard a voice yell.
"Stop!" Kokoro screamed, running up to them. "Don't kill her!" Hoshiko blinked before stepping off of Ayano and dropping her knife. "What the hell are you doing!?" She exclaimed, walking up to the girl. "Go back inside with the others you moron." She pushed, to which the pink clad denied. "No! This isn't right Hoshiko! Bullying isn't right!" She yelled, making her friend groan. "How many times do I have to tell you, I don't care! I don't do this because I'm insecure, or because I have a complex. I do it because I'm evil."
While the two gyarus argued, Amai snuck up next to Ayano and helped her up silently. "Amai?" Ayano asked, to which Amai placed a finger on her lips, pointing to the green clad who's back was turned. Ayano understood as the two snuck off into the school, away from them.
"Musume never wanted us to harm anyone! I think she's terrible for bullying Horuda, but at least she doesn't condone violence!" Kokoro tried to reason. Hoshiko smirked and laughed crazily before speaking. "Who cares about Musume!? Who cares about Kashiko, or Hana, or even you! I do whatever the fuck I want, and no one is going to stop me! Not the school, not our leader, and certainly not you!" She pushed the girl down, smiling. "Now stay out of my way!" She yelled, watching as Kokoro escaped, running.
She sighed satisfied before turning back. "Now, where were we-" She froze, noticing that Ayano was no longer on the ground. Only the knife that was used to harm her. "What...the...FUCKKK!"
---------------
Ayano and Amai soon reached the rooftop. Amai opened the doors as everyone watched, smiling and sighing in relief to see that she was okay. Saki patched the girl up as best as she could with bandages and band-aids. It made Ayano smile knowing how much people cared about her, hugging her and making her feel okay. She felt dizzy, so she opted out on laying down on one of the benches as Amai watched, smiling.
Soon enough, Kokoro finally reached the roof as well, closing the door to make sure that no one could get in without them knowing. She immediately went and hugged Horuda, letting her know that it was going to be okay and no one would hurt her again. Ayano blinked before staring at Amai. "Since when did they become a thing?" She asked. Amai shrugged and smiled widely. "Who knows. At least they're in love."
Ayano smiled before she sat up and kissed the baker, making her eyes widen in surprise. She then pulled away after a while, sighing. "I've been wanting to do that for so long, you have no idea." Amai giggled before kissing her cheek and leaning on her shoulders, everyone awwing at them. Ayano simply flipped them off before chuckling.
Everyone seemed to enjoy each other's presence, completely forgetting the traumatizing experience that happened earlier. But before anything else happened, the speakers went off again. "Ayano Aishi, get to the counselor's office immediately." Everyone looked at Ayano with wide eyes before noticing that the police were out front, the green bully already in a police car. Amai started to panic, trying to come up with a plan to get Ayano away before the tall girl stopped her. "Calm down everyone. Most likely I'll be taken in for investigation. Technically, what I did was out of self defense, so I should be let off easy."
She then placed a hand on Amai's shoulder before smiling. "I'll need you and Kokoro to come with me and help me defend myself though. Knowing what the police know about my family they may get suspicious. I doubt Ayato will defend me." She muttered. Kokoro and Amai agreed, and they went down to the counselor's office for investigation. Today was going to be a long day, and it was only 10am.
A/N: Another chapter edited. Changing the storyline mid story is super confusing, so sorry about that. I hope you enjoy this version, I wanted to focus on different dynamics. Love yall, peace.
