"So this is the young lady your mother has been talking about." Ayano's father smiled, nodding down at the girl. "Amai Odayaka right? Heir to the Odayaka bakery chain, hm? It's always nice to match a personality to a face." He smiled at the teenage girl. Amai bowed down before the man out of respect. "Yes. It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Aishi. Although I'm pretty sure I won't be owning the business for a long while, heh." She laughed dryly. She didn't like to think about owning the bakery, mostly because her parents were a bit overbearing towards her. But her passion for baking was still there, so much so that she joined the cooking club a while back when they were still in school.

Jokichi gave a sympathetic smile, before placing a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. Expectations can be...difficult. Even scary sometimes. But trust me, you'll be just fine." Amai looked up at him and gave him a genuine smile, nodding her head in agreement. "Although," He started, looking at Ayano. "My daughter never told me she was interested in girls." He joked, making Ayano look away embarrassed. Amai giggled as she pulled her in for a hug. "I only recently figured it out once she decided to ask me out." The heir smiled, making the dark haired girl roll her eyes.

"Don't act too surprised, dad." They muttered, giving their father a small smirk. "Besides, I like to keep things a secret." Her dad raised an eyebrow. "Oh, like how you kept being locked up and placed on trial away from me and your mother, right?" He asked with a serious expression on his face. Ayano immediately frowned, before crossing her arms. Amai noticed this and tried to find a way out of the conversation so as to not get Ayano into any trouble than she already is.

"I seen that you've went grocery shopping Mr. Aishi." She pointed out, motioning to the bags on the floor next to him. He looked at her and shrugged. "Yeah, it's for dinner tonight." He responded, before picking up the bags and taking them to the kitchen. "Are you planning on joining us, Amai?" He asked, shouting from the kitchen.

Amai looked at Ayano for permission, to which they nodded. "It's all up to you, dear." They muttered, making the chubby girl smile and pull them down for a kiss. It shocked Ayano at first, before she melted into it, wrapping her hands down to her waist, pulling her closer. After a while, the two parted, smiling at each other as both of their faces turned a light shade of pink.

"Yeah sure!" She smiled, walking into the kitchen. "I'd really enjoy spending time with you all." Jokichi nodded at her before clapping his hands together. "Perfect. Well, dinner should be made at around 6pm, so you girls can hang out in Ayano's room and do...whatever girlfriends do." He mumbled, tapping a finger on his chin. Amai once again bowed out of respect, smiling at the man. "Thank you Mr. Aishi, I appreciate you letting me eat dinner, much less stay here. I see where Ayano gets her hospitality from." She giggled, making the taller girl blush. Amai then kissed them on the cheek, before ruffling their hair a bit. "I'll be upstairs love, I'm a bit tired from, y'know." She waved her hand dismissively, before heading upstairs.

When she was out of vision, Jokichi signaled Ayano to walk closer to him so they could have a talk, to which the teenager agreed. "The school is very upset with you. They threatened to kick you out." He said coldly, holding her by her shoulders. Ayano winced, looking away from him. "I know father. But I had to protect the one I loved. Besides, she attacked me first." She said, her voice deprived of any emotion. Mr. Aishi sighed, before letting her go. "Your mother is very upset with you. I'm very upset with you. You reminded us of the tragedy that happened decades ago."

Ayano rolled her eyes and scoffed at his scolding. "Who cares. It's not my fault that mom made those mistakes a long time ago. She killed Sumire because she was jealous. I did what I had to do." She spat, hearing as her father's breathing grew more aggressive. "Don't you ever mention her name in this house. Your mother is a different person. I know she is." He said not louder than a whisper. He looked away from his daughter, clearly upset. "One day you'll understand. Ryoba wanted you and your brother to stay away from violence. Not just because she wants you guys out of trouble, but because she doesn't want to see you guys go down a similar path."

The young girl sighed, before crossing her arms. They knew that their father was right. Him and her mom were just looking out for both of their children. The two were born broken, that's just the Aishi curse. So, with a swift movement, she went to hug her dad, squeezing him tightly. "Wow....you're a lot stronger than I remember, heh." He chuckled, wheezing as he petted her head and attempted to breathe from the tight hug. Ayano simply hummed in acknowledgement, refusing to let him go. She never really likes saying I love you or anything of that sort. However, her actions proved how much she cared for others, which Jokichi knew. That was just the Aishi way, he supposed.
