12. Would She....?

Amai gasped when she heard the full story. It couldn't be true. How could someone take another person's life? That was crazy! "I....I'm sorry." She bit her lip, not knowing how to respond to all the information she gathered. Ayano shook her head. "Don't be. It wasn't your fault. It was my mother's fault. And her mother's fault. And....so on." She sighed. Her family was fucked. She was just lucky that her and Ayato turned out normal. Amai sighed. "Yeah, but still. That must've been awful.....was she found guilty?" She asked. Ayano nodded. "Yeah, but she got out 5 years later on probation. But after that life threatening experience, she got mental help and married my dad."

Amai smiled at the last part. But, she couldn't help but feel as if her own life was in danger just by dating her. Was Ayano like her mom, or was she truly different? Sure, she can come off as....aggressive, but that was only if it was a life or death situation. Still, the way Ayano grinned while harming Musume and her group scared her. Sure, they harmed her first and they got what they deserved. But what would've happened if they harmed herself. Would Ayano actually-

She got pulled out of her thoughts when she saw a car pull up. The window then lowered and she saw an average looking boy smile. "Hey Ayano! Hop in!" Taro yelled. Ayano smiled and turned to Amai. "I texted Taro a while ago, he said he'd drive me home. Do you wanna come with me?" She asked. Amai stood quiet before nodding, flashing her a smile and entering the car. Ayano was concerned. Amai was never this....anxious before. What was wrong with her? She bit her thumb and followed her girlfriend inside the car, putting aside her concerns for later. "Why were you two outside on the curb?" Taro asked as he pulled off. Ayano shrugged and held Amai's hand. "We were just talking, that's all." She explained, to which Amai nodded before looking out the window. Taro simply nodded before coming up with another topic to fill in the silence.

As Taro continued to make small talk with Ayano, Amai was left in her thoughts again. The biggest question still remained in her head. Would Ayano have killed the girls if they harmed her? From what Amai gathered from today answered her question perfectly. Yes. Yes she would've. She would kill anyone that got in the way of them. And, while she was flattered, it scared her. She wasn't scared for her safety, because Amai knew that Ayano would never harm her. But she was scared for Ayano. If she were to kill someone for her, she could go to prison. Or worse, she could get the death penalty. Then.....they would never be together. Now that's what scared Amai.

Sure, it's only been a week since they started to date, but that week felt like eternity to her. She didn't want to lose the love of her life in a blink of an eye. So, she thought of something drastic. If Ayano were to kill anyone for her, they would run away. Yeah. That's what they were going to do. They were going to run away together. Travel to America where they'd hide from the police. Although drastic, she'd abandon her family, job, and school just to know that her and Ayano would be together forever. They had to be. They needed to be.

"Yo, Amai....sweetheart...?" Ayano waved a hand in front of her girlfriend's face. Amai snapped back to reality. "Hm?" She asked, looking at her lover. "Taro asked a question and I feel like you'd like to answer it." Amai tilted her head before asking the boy to repeat himself. "How did you guys start to date? I want all the details." Taro asked, smirking as he looked at his rear-view mirror. The two girls smiled as Amai cuddled closer to Ayano before she told the story.

It was official. Amai wanted to spend her life with Ayano. And no one and nothing could stop her...
