Katherine's P.O.V
"Why did we even move here?" I asked my mom as I unpacked my clothes & hang them to my closet.
"I told you already sweetheart. Your dad found a new job in here and besides, this house is even beter than that in New York. Don't ya think?" She turned and winked at me.
"Yea. Like we ever needed this. This house is huge for 3 bodies! It has 4 bedrooms plus a maid's quarter, not to add the fact that you and dad share a room and we don't have a maid." I rolled my eyes after that nonsense rant. I'd just miss our place in NY. We've been there since I was 3. And moving means adjustment. New neighbors, new school, and new friends. As if any of that is easy to connect with.
"Oh. You stop that." She said and walked to me, placed both her hands on my shoulders. "You, should be excited about your new school!" She exclaimed.
Great. What does she even know about school nowadays? Ugggh.
"Yea. Can't wait."
I parked my car somewhere far from the building im supposed to go because there's no available space nearby. Geez. Must be alotta student out here huh?
As I walk in the corridor I bumped into someone.
"I am so sorry." I said as I helped her pick up her things. I know it was my fault. Or maybe not. This little piece of paper with the room I'm supposed to go to isn't giving me a lot of help.
"It's alright." She said as I handed her some of her stuff and as she fixed her shoulder bag. "You must be new here." she added, "I'm Nichole Collin. You may call me Nikki." She extended her hand to me and I took it.
"Yea. We just moved here. I'm Katherine, Kate for some." I smiled.
This is good. I just actually made friends in a matter of what? 20 minutes of roaming around like a lost puppy.
"Listen, uhh. I got classes at 8 and I still can't find the room to Miss del Rosario's class. I might need a little help." I told her.
She took the paper from my hand and read it. She smiled and loked up at me afterwards then she said, "Tell you what, I'm in the same class. Let's just go there together."
"Ok. Great." I shrugged.
And so we walked our way to our first class. I sure hope this good vibes keep coming 'til the end of the day.
"I know! Let's go out on Friday!" Mitch said with this huge smile on her face.
"For what?" Nikki asked.
"I don't know." Mitch shrugged. "Uhh.. welcome party for Kate?" Then she looked at me like she's pleading me to ride with her.
"Thanks. That sounds cool." I said.
So I made a few friends which means I'm not gunna be eating alone at the reject corner. Thats better!
"Ok then. Let's just call each other on Friday. Would 9pm be fine?" Thea asked everyone as we got our foods on the tray.
"All rightie." Everyone chorused. Paused. Then laughed.
After a few minutes Thea said we better get going for our next class. I figured she's the early bird in the group.
"But I just bought my coffee." I told them as they towered over me.
"It's fine, Just bring it upstairs." Nikki suggested.
I shrugged and lifted my cup. Just as we approached the exit door I noticed something on my shoes. It's like a stain or some---BAM!
JESUS CHRIST! That's hot. Literally. My coffee, my steaming coffee, just poured over me and this dude I bumped with. What is with all the bumpin' on my first day?! Like seriously. Psh.
"Shit!" He cursed. "Look at my shirt! You're coffee's all over it!"
"Oh my God! I am sorry. I'm sooo sorry! I didn't see you th---"
"Obviously." He cut me off. And then he started cursing and ranting as if it's gunna do any help.
"Hey." I tried to get his attention.
"And not to add it's steaming hot! What were you thinking?!" He continued and ignored me.
"Mister. Listen." Tried again.
"You better watch were you're going. If you happened to be a guy, you'd probably have your nose fixed by now." And again, he ignored me.
I let out a I'm-losing-my-patience sigh. And blurted out, "YOU ARE SUCH A GAY!"
This guy is obviously exaggerating. I know it is my fault. But hey, he isn't the only one with a steaming hot coffee all over his shirt. I already said sorry, what else does he want me to do?
"What did you say?" He said after a short pause. His eyes narrowed and he stepped closer. Automatically, I stepped back.
"Come on dude. I already said sorry."
"Did you just call me gay?" Again he stepped forward and I stepped back.
" Look, let me just buy you another shirt. Besides, it's not like you are the only one with a messed up shirt. I didn't mean for that to happened. What's with all the ranting.. and.. and cursing?"
"Why are you stepping back?"
"Because!" I tried to make a longer eye contact but I felt like drowning in those blue eyes so I looked down as I stepped back again. Only because he moved forward again. "Why do you keep moving forward?!" Geez. My tone sounded like I'm gunna cry the next second.
"Gay huh?" He stopped in time my back hit the wall.
"I didn't me--" Again he cut me off. Only this time, his lips were locked to mine. And for the first time in my life I didn't know what to do. I mean, God. His lips were soft and.. and.. and what was I thinking?! Where are my friends anyway? People are watching us. Anticipating what's gunna happen next. I just stood there with my eyes wide open as he did his.. thing with my mouth. And just before I lost all control he ended the kiss.
"Who you callin' gay now?" He smirked and walked away leaving me there stunned with my mouth still slightly open.
