“What were you thinking Nichole?” I asked in an irritated tone trying to keep it down as Nate’s just behind me.

After he said that, I flushed and then walked ahead of him not bothering to say a word. I didn’t confirm nor deny anything, and I just wished he’ll leave it there.

I kept on walking and thinking. Then I called Nikki which brings us back to our conversation.

“I’m sorry Kate. But I promise I didn’t sell you off by anything else. I just slipped once because he was so persistent in asking me. We were talking over the phone for almost half an hour and he just kept on asking about you. He even tried to bribe me with a date with Lew. An-"

“What?” I cut her off. Nate was asking about me? And as Nikki exaggeratedly put it, he’s being persistent about it? And what’s with Lew? I mean, I know he’s best friends with Nate but what’s that suppose to do with her?

“What?” She asked back.

Don’t you just hate it when you ask someone something and they ask you the same question back? Ugh.

“Don’t you ‘what’ me back. What did you said earlier?”

“Oh. About Nate bugging me about you? Yes! He was and I was determined not to tell him but then he said he’d set me up with Lew and.. and did I already mentioned he was oh so persistent?”

“He is? And what about Lew?” I asked.

“Whoops. Slipped again. Call you later Kate. Love you!!” Then she hung up. I tried to call her back but it seems like the little witch shut off her phone.

“Uggggh!” I grunted and stopped on my tracks. I turned to Nate and asked, “Where are we going?!”

“I don’t know. I was following you.”

I feel every ounce of blood in my body rise up to my head and Nate, who seemed to enjoy it, laughed.

“Why are you so irritated? Don’t tell me you’re ashamed of me—“

“STOP!” I yelled even before he’s finished. OMJUICE! I turned around because I felt my eyes tearing up.

Yes. Don’t ask. Whenever I feel so pissed off I uncontrollably cry. Really. And that’s even more frustrating. I covered my face with both hands and I fought back my tears but it was futile.

Nate chuckled and then I felt his presence in front of me. But no, I didn’t bother to look up nor take off my hands away from my face.

“Hey. It’s alright.” And I was taken aback when I felt his arms wrapped around me as he pulled me in for a hug.

“Shh. It’s okay babe.” He soothed my hair.

I’ll let it go for now. But I’m gunna figure a way to get back to this peanut butter dude.

“You ask.” I tugged Nate’s sleeves.

“No. You ask.”

“Please?” My eyes are still sore because of me being a cry baby earlier. Now that I’ve thought about it, I feel so abashed again! I don’t know how long we stayed there; Nate just hugging and calming me down and me, just resting on his chest with hands still covering my messed up face.

After a while Nate said he’ll treat me a snack and so now we’re here at McDonalds. Hahaha! I love their hot fudge!

“Why can’t you do it?” He folded his arms across his chest.

“Fine.” I said and waited for the crew to come back to the counter. “Uhm. Can we have extra catsups please?” I asked her.

She smiled and nodded, “Here you go.” She handed me the packs and placed the sundae on our tray, “Order’s complete.” The girl was sweet but then there’s something I don’t like about her. She seemed to be.. flirting with Nate? What a minx.
