"Who was that?" Mom asked as her head peaked out the now open door.
I turned and tried to hide my smile. But didn't worked so it appeared like a grin.
She walked out the door and faced me, her hands on her hips.
"I cannot believe you young lady!"
"Mom!" I almost shrieked when she called me that and gave me the look.
She shook her head, still with a serious face and walked back into the house. I know she was waiting for me to follow her so I did. I saw her standing beside the grand piano.
"You, brought a guy in here yesterday named Lew. I may be aging but I'm sure i remember Lew. And that guy's not him."
Ugggh. What's the big fuss? "That guy's Nate and no, he isn't Lew. He's the bestfriend. What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?! Katherine really?! What's wrong?!" She eyed me and I know that was the beginning of a preach. "It does not look good bringing home different guys everyday Katherine! Not to add, kissing them!"
"I did not kiss Lew!" I retorted. "And they're just my friends mom. Lew offered me a ride home yesterday and Nate did the same thing today, only Nate was.. " I scrambled my brain for some word that fits and I failed. Miserably failed. "different." was the only thing I added.
I came to her and hugged her. This is how I end our fights or how I avoid starting one. "I know it might look bad but Lew and I are just friends whereas Nate--"
"Is different." She said and smiled. I know she was getting the point. Which at the moment I'm not really certain of. But that doesn't matter. We both laughed and hugged.
"What a sweet view." Dad said after he's closed the door. I pulled away from mom and she gave me look as if saying 'honey that's your dad. be nice'.
Mom smiled and kissed him. "You go change and I'll just prepare something for dinner." She winked at him and then she's gone.
You see, she always do this. Leaving me at an awkward moment with dad alone. I figured that's her way of making me try to work things with dad. But no, sorry. Not helping.
"Kate." He called.
I just looked at him not bothering to say a thing for two reasons; one, you know I have issues with him right? two, I just don't know what to say if ever I'd want to have small talk -- not that I would want that.
"How's school? I heard you brought someone here yesterday." He chuckled.
Psh. Here he is again acting so cool like he's the perfect father. "Yeah. School's fine and I'm glad you came home late yesterday for whatever reasons you have." I gave him a mocking look and sat down on the piano chair. My back turned on him.
"That's.. not really nice." was everything I heard from him. He walked to the stairs and started to climb up. I glanced a hurt expression on his face but I pretended not to care. Waste of time.
"Hey, dad. Look at me. Think back and talk to me did I grow up according to plan?" I sung the first lyrics of the song as I play the keys.
5th day.
It's friday, friday, gotta get down on friday. ~
I laughed as I heard one of the students from the hallway singing. Geez. Rebecca Black. Oh well, you know what they say, if you have nothing good to say just keep your mouth shut. So I'm zipping it off.
Nothing much has happened today. Same boring class, same boring chair and same boring instructors. Well maybe not all of them. We are now on our last period and for some reasons I just felt like it was the longest hour of the day.

Humor"No you didn't.." I uttered in my warning tone and in my warning look. "Yes I did." Using his free hand he held mine that was still pulling his other arm. He faced me. Oh gosh. I felt my cheeks burn and I just wanted the ground to open up & swallow...
