The drive home was just fine, in case you were wondering. Lew and I talked about stuffs and continued our getting-to-know-each-other session that was interrupted earlier by Mr. Black and Nathaniel's genius.

I found out Lew moved here from the Philippines when he was in grade 5. And officially became the best friend of Nathaniel in grade 7. He has a younger sister, Ali.

"Would you like to come in for a snack?" I asked him after he pulled the car door open for me.

"Sounds cool for me." He smiled and we headed to the door.

Mom opened the door for us and I introduced them to each other.

"Oh-kay. Im just gonna grab something to eat." I added, "feel at home."

Lew headed for the living room and looked at all the pictures placed on the table there. This is what most visitors do. Haha! Good thing I don't have any embarrassing pictures in there.

Mom followed me to the kitchen and gave me a teasing smile.

"I know what you're thinking." I told her.

"What?" She asked playing innocent.

"He's just a friend. OK?" I said though I can't hide that smile playing on my lips. I opened the fridge and pulled out the cake with one hand and the pitcher of juice on the other then I kicked the door close.

"Need help?" She asked.

"No. I can manage. Thanks mum." I glanced upon her and sliced the cake into two and put each into small plates. "Why don't you entertain our guest?" I smiled.

"I thought you'd never asked." She winked at me then walked out.

After securing that everything's good, I lifted the tray and walked out of the kitchen.

"She loves playing." I overheard mom said.

"Really?" Lew replied as she turned to my mom then saw me and smiled.

I rested the tray down the center table and wiped my hands on the front of my jeans. "Were you talking about me?" I asked.

"Yes. Your mom here was just telling me you love playing."

"I'm sorry." I cocked my head to the side. "What?"

Mom laughed at me. I know she was thinking that Im being suspicious about what she shared. Sorta true. Playing?

"The piano, sweetheart." Mom clarified. "Well. I'll leave you two in here."

"Yeah. Thanks." I said.

Just before she climbed the stairs she turned to Lew and said, "I'm counting you can keep our secret."

She and Lew laughed and finally she was gone.

"What? What was that?" I asked with a knotted forehead.

"Nothing." He shrugged.

4th day.

Oh hey look. Something's in my locker again. My 4th hate letter for the week. Whoever is sending this is pretty consistent huh? Telling me everyday how she hates me and that I shouldn't mess with her. What a dummy. How would I back off if I don't even know her. And even if I do, I won't. She's gunna have to make me.

"Hey." Nikki slapped me on the butt.

I shut my locker door closed and flashed the paper in her face.

"Another hate note again huh?" She got the letter and looked around. "Well whoever is doing this should stop by now." She said in a voice a little louder than it should be. "Or I'll shut her up forever."
